exactly, it hasn't been "stock" car racing for A LONG time.

The only thing "Toyota" about the Toyota cars is the drive train and the paint scheme.
The rolling chasis on every NASCAR car is damn near identicle regardless of who made it.

And then with the Car of Tomorrow coming out decals will be the only external way to tell the cars apart.

Not that Toyota is going to make a big splash right off the bat anyway. The cars are having a lot of trouble in Daytona getting up to speed.

Definitely going to be a very different year for NASCAR...

NASCAR is second only to the paint-drying championship.

Don't forget the cheese cam, NASCAR might be better than that...

As for Toyota getting involved, this country's completely lost it's identity already anyway, why not
this too? Ever go to a Harley shop and look at the parts/clothes? Everything is made in Singapore, Taiwan, China. And everyone thinks they're all "bad-ass" american machines (and for the record, I owned one for 5 years). Cracks me up...

NASCAR = Not A Single Car As Remembered. I am old and a "Stock Car" was a modified regular car. The stuff that is "Today" is nothing more than a fiberglass body with a high tech chassis that is about as "Stock" as "Reality TV".

hmm.. from the replies it seems that Nascar seems sold/crooked?

That's the reason I hate F1. It's all a big show, it has nothing to do with the skills of the driver or the car.. It might even go as far that the overal winner
is planned in the beginning of the season..
"I hate these filthy neutrals! With enemies, you know where they stand. But with neutrals... who knows? It sickens me!"

The whole "Racing Scene" as we know it today is just plain Bullshit. The driver doesn't drive the car. It's all done for him. The steering wheel on an F1 car is like my TV remote. Just press a button. NASCAR is so far away from it's roots that they can't even find a dead branch. Auto racing used to be a driver taking a car to its limit. Lock, stock and barrel. The car was secondary to the driver. Now, it's the car that takes the driver. It's no fun anymore.

the only thing fiberglass on a nascar is the nose and the rear of the car,the rest of the body is sheet metal, never think that nascar is like F1,F1 cars are high tech rolling carbon fiber speed machines that have no weight to them, yes nascars are not stock,a stock car is just not safe at all to be racing at 200 mph,so they build custom race cars that are safe at those speeds, and trust me sure there turning left, those driver are driving the car its not driving it self, nascar has maintained and stayed away from high tech, theres no traction control, theres no fuel injection theres no airbags, theres no speedometer, just strap yourself in and go like hell

I think the Japanese race cars would add to NASCAR. It would be cool to see their drivers do that drifting stuff like on Fast and Furious! Plus, all the hot little Asian honeys would be a welcome sight.

I knew I was had on the body. I know there is sheet metal. They were going almost 200MPH years ago. In "Stock" cars. That's why they made Daytona and the other Super Speedways. And that's why they disallowed HEMIS and then slowed everyone down with "Plates". So now we get 45 cars running around in a bunch that just has multi-car crash written in the Program. Were's the race? All you have to do is tune into the last 15 laps. As for F1 racing, that's even a bigger joke. Get the Pole or two back, you win. There are no real places to pass. And fewer places to race. Auto racing is boring. And then there is soccer.:ROTF:
