There are lots and lots of different IQ tests (California Test of Mental Maturity, Wonderlic, etc) so scores can relly be all-over the board.

A few years ago, I had it stuck in my head I wanted to be a member of MENSA. I paid $30.00 and took the tests...The idea behind the criteria for MENSA is that only IQ's in the top 2% of the world make it...

I passed one of the tests in the 98% percentile and I think the other was in the 95%...

Anyhow, my point is that there is a lot of variations in testing and even well-designed ones obviously have some bias...

I have a MENSA card and a psychology degree, but I meet dozens of people everyday who are way smarter, lol...I think the poster above that mentions it is about potential is pretty accurate...Everyone seems to be really good at something. I just happen to be good at taking tests, lol...I would rather be the guy that knows how to fix cars. Now THAT is a marketable talent!

i went to prep school in new england for 4 years and did not get kicked out. Aregular modern day Holden caulfield but I never got thrown out, I think that's due to my parents donating a science wing or something like that-lol college was not needed whatsoever.

I got 126 on this one. I think I could score higher if I knew english better lol.

          Congratulations, Uros!
          Your IQ score is 126

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Precision Processor. This means you're exceptionally good at discovering quick solutions to problems, especially ones that involve math or logic. You're also resourceful and able to think on your feet. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

On the real IQ test 3 years ago I scored 124 (I was 15 back then).

I scored an 86. Being 56 years old and a beer drinker for 40 years, I guess it caught up with me. I feel really stupid just now so be gentle.
I am a true ass set to this board.

I have a chinese friend who is insanely intelligent, and learns shit after reading it once. He knows cuntloads about pretty much everything, and his IQ is around 130. He's currently in business school.

Then I have a friend who smokes weed and got kicked out of high school, and his IQ is around 140. He could easily wrap his head around even the most difficiult of concepts in class, but he never bothered to do any work. He works as waiter now I believe.

                  Tough shit.

I myself i'm kinda dull, would rate myself as average IQ, can't be bothered to take any tests. Too much thinking.

Online tests are irrelevant. A real IQ test needs to be interpreted by a psychologist or psychiatrist, since many questions are subjective to the knowledge one has gained.

So are child-scores which are administered by a psychologist, which are modified upwards to reflect what it would compare to in adult terms.

And sadly, the higher an IQ that you have, the more likely that you will fail in life than someone who is just average or slightly above. Knowing too much can lead to depression and lack of motivation.

This cracks me up. I work with some of the most intelligent scientists in the world. When they speak , they sound like they are speaking in some wierd language. But as smart as some of them are, they don't have any common sense or street smarts.

Can I borrow this for my bio? Story of my life

I'm somewhere around 147-155, theyre the scores Ive gotten before on two different tests. I also smashed that 'einstein' question email that goes around
Logical and lateral thinking are my strong points, a very visual and mathematical mind. This also makes posting on messageboards difficult as I overthink things a hell of alot. Seriously!

Ive got a mate (fellow jackson enthusiast actually) that like me didnt persue the scholarly path we were capable of. I also have another friend (very highly ranked high school/uni scores) who recently got tired of where it got him and quit his job in IT to live more. These are the brightest guys I know, and certainly between two of us you would NOT pick up the intelligence. You cannot judge a book by its cover, or career. Two of my mates who do(did) server management for the local hospital network can attest to the fucking idiot doctors that are to daft and/or egomaniacal to learn to use a pc properly!

I really wasnt surprised to see alot of high numbers in this thread as quite a few metalheads are smartypantses, they tend to seek past the propaganda pop music. Another thing is Jacksons are clearly the smarter choice. I couldnt begin to comprehend the low scores an esp or gibson board would face (and I have a very visual mind!! )

Sure.... go ahead. Remember to put the footnote that it's my story too!

I never cared about school. It was never a challenge. Even the AP and MGM classes didn't require much thought.

In school... I would pass every test, usually ace them. Doing this I could avoid doing homework and still come out with a C+/B- average. So, why bother.

In almost every report card I've had I've read since the 3rd or 4th grade... "underachiever" "does not apply himself" "talks too much" and "exceptionally intelligent, lacks motivation"... and similar things...

When I was in 7th grade, our school was one of a handful in California that tested out a new test, the Stanford Acheivement Test. The professor who coordinated the test came to my school and visited me for about a half hour. He told me to study hard and that if I kept good grades through high school I could go anywhere I wanted, and got some letter of recognition... It was all very weird. My parents were repeatedly asked if they would give me permission to skip several grades, but they never gave consent. I ended up dropping out and getting my Highschool Proficiency certificate.

                                Oh well...
