Burglars do say the best deterent are dogs. I myself add a very loud bird into the mix. My two dogs bark for at least 5 minutes whenever anyone comes over. It gets annoying but it will scare burglars away.

My Rottie is like that. She'll bark for a while, but she has a massive, deep bark most people wouldn't want to mess with.

My big dog is not that big of a dog (60+lbs the last time I weighed her), but she is nuts, fearless and solid muscle. It's the breads- Aust. cattle/Husky. She can jump 6' straight up-she is not something a burglar would want in their face! She is the biggest sweatheart to me and my wife but she even growls at my brother.

Dogs are the craziest people I know.

My Rottie is the same way. Beautiful, sweet lap puppy to her people, but doesn't like strangers creepin' around her house. She's not one of the big American bred 100lb+ Rotties, but normal German sized. About 80lbs.

In fact that's her mug in my avatar. I thinks she was pup in that pic though.

Besides cash and jewelry guns are one of the things burglars look for when they break in. They would love those.

Some residence locks are vulnerable to unauthorized entry through the use of 'bump keys.'

p.s most people have dogs in the show, and they just love him.
He even has taken a few of them with him when he left with the loot.
I love that show. It's funny watching these people freak out. The best ones though are the people that write in to the show inviting them to do their house because they have a "foolproof" system. Then when they're shit's gone they're floored.

I have an open door and then close door policy and party the once confident burglars under the table like W.C. Fields , they'll beg to get out. And i'll let them out for a price of course.

At least surveillance cameras can't be "bumped", especially when no one knows where they are (except me).

And even if they do find the cameras, they can't destroy the video footage if it's somewhere on the internet =D
