so in closing .. religious threads, sexual, racial, homophobic, political can't be discussed without hurt feelings..so they simply shouldn't be if we can't be adults and think before we hit the enter key ..

I think each point should be well explained by the management and put into a sticky topic so that everyone could understand why they can't write about those certain things.

Religious threads suck period, I've been a pretty big asshole in those threads too...it's just some people who don't have any knowledge start bashing other religions and praising their own stuff...and you just can't help it...the need to educate or explain that everything equally sucks. I will never fall into this again.

Racial comments, I think almost everyone understands why it's retarded but still some are doing it. But it shows what kind of people they are...stereotyping others based on their skin color. Just horrible thing to do.

Homophobic comments. Can be funny but it's silly, everyone should mind their own biz and not care about who is banging who. But many like to show their macho attitude to prove that they are real tough guys while hidding their insecurity.

Political threads ALWAYS piss somone off. Politics suck anyway, what's here to discuss.

I also want to point out anti-female comments, I'm not a chick, but calling women (mostly celebrities) without knowing them bitches or sluts is stupid. Another cover to hide insecurity.

But I don't understand why sexual threads or comments piss someone off. My porn thread for instance was made to praise all those good looking women not to bash them. How is that offensive? Kids don't take sex/porn offensive, they love it too. Most women also like it but don't admit it. Pornstars never take that shit offensive, they know that, that's why they are doing their job. Is it sexual insecurity or bad sex life or just plain jelaousy that makes sex offend someone.

Somone who is offended by sex/porn or whatever please write a decent explanation here so I and many others could understand people like you. Explain why and exactly what kind of sex comments and threads are offensive. I want a good psychological analyze. It helps to avoid offensive comments in the future by sex pervs like me. Please no short and hyper conservative BS comments like "It's just offensive to me" or "It's offensive to me when you are talking about women who are doing that job (porn biz)"....it's like why are you offended when the pornstars aren't offended that men talk weird things about them and masturbate while watching their pics or videos, their job shouldn't be also offensive to you because they chose to earn money that way, you don't have to do it, you can't decide what's the right or wrong way to make money or are you jelaous that we talk about them not you..... Short BS makes the things only worse...just like the example I made. Honest and deep explanation is needed.


Another thing that causes shitstorms is that we can't express all our emotions with letters. We only see text on the forum, we don't hear the peoples' voice and see their face. Just like Tommy said, we can't be sure what's the tone of the posts. Those smileys or emoticons help only a little bit.
There are a lot of peope with different social backround. We all have different manners and cultures. One's text can be very misleading to another. When someone makes a harmeless joke then somebody takes it as an insult because he doesn't understand the joke because it's from a different culture and social group. Also some people just don't have any sense of humour at all and take everything very seriously.

I rarely take anything seriously, I almost never speak seriously but a lot of people take some of my stuff very seriously and jump on my throat and write "what the fuck are you doing".

I come from a place where everyone makes very dry and sarcastic jokes. The whole culture among the people I know is based on busting balls and whatnot. It's always been that way since I was born. No one among that group takes that shit offensive but here many do as they don't understand the true meaning of the posts.

We have some dudes here who are very sarcastic and are busting balls without any bad intentions, a lot of guys here take that very offensive but I get I good kick out of those post because I mostly understand the real meaning of those posts.

People who are writing in Bill's thread are some of them, I enjoy Tim's, G's, Jimmy's, John's and some others' sarcastic remarks. Bill doesn't take their or mine shit seriously, he understands it's a friendly joke. But we are all humans and even amongst the sarcastic guys there are some misunderstandings and shit sometimes.

I think some drama is good, it reminds us we are humans not robots without emotions, everything can't bee good all the time no matter how much fett wants it, it would be booring and fictional.

now how ridiculous did that sound? Of course I'm not serious that it bothers me that much because I take into consideration that not everyone has or knows a retarded child like my daughter. It's one of those situations where you don't know how much words can hurt until you're the one it's pointed at. We all have to learn that while some of us can be a little malicious at times, I don't think we truly mean it so deeply.

I grew up calling my friends retards because it was funny. It's a hard thing to deal with when you've been served this as an adult but it makes you look at life and people much more differently. I almost think more people should go through things like this as I believe it teaches us quite a lot about life.
