Gloves

I actually bought a nice pair of fingerless gloves just for this purpose. Was living in a cold miserable house at the time and the gloves would help warm my hands, and left my fingertips free to fret & grip my pick. With all but the last two knuckles of my hand kept warm by the gloves, getting the blood flow into my hands didn't take nearly as long.

Seriously though, make sure you are warm when you grab your guitar, a good friend of mine ruined a promising playing career by playing in a cold bedsit, not warming up properly and jumped right in getting widdly. Two days later, wrist the size of a tennis ball (I believe it was some sort of tendonitis or carpal tunnel thing), never recovered properly, game over.
