    1) I hope to God I never look "rock and roll."

    2) I don't constantly rip on Ed. Half the time I'm ripping on Mustaine!

    3) Uhm, George Harrison and Glen Campbell were my first influences.

    4) Please, whomever owns the time machine, may I borrow it for this weekend?

    5) I'm 48 and in better shape than when I was 40. Still handsome too.

ahhhhh, thee good ol' days....hell, even the VH roadies got laid between sets in the old days.....

I'm just wondering how the hell they will replace Mike's high harmony parts.. I think those are just as much a part of the signature sound as eddie's playing.

How much you wanna bet they have backup singers on tour?
Do NOT underestimate Mike's playing abilities. I am a very accomplished bassist of almost 30 years and learned approx 50 VH songs note for note and performed for years in my VH tribute band..many of their bass parts are NOT "easy" and does require a feel that only a seasoned bass player can achieve..

I know this..because I'm not a guitarist who can play a bass. I am a bassist who also plays guitar..there is a difference.

don't make me post my tribute stuff again..for it is truly awesome!

No one is ripping the talent. I think what is being said is that no matter what anyone one or any group tries to do to have a comeback or a new "Group" it just won't be the same. And that's a sad thing. No one can do the same thing they did 20+ years ago. Not even the Rolling Stones.
I am a true ass set to this board.

I agree, and Mike is 1/4th Van Halen...IMO!

VH crash and burned before they even got started..what a surprise.

I think this whole thing was a scheme of Eds, just to get back on line with Guitar World and sell some of his sig shit..

..and the Rock and Roll Hall of fame induction thing..

I don't know gang, based on what Dave has stated they definitely have already have some original tunes done. Who really knows at this point?
At any rate what brought everything to screeching halt?
What did Eddies girl friend do that stopped all of this from happening?
To me, the details weren't exactly clear as to what and why whatever happened to make Roth not sign.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

Maybe Ed is secretly married to Sharon Osbourne...the Yoko Ono of Metal..

Actually snookums I'm 38 and look 28. How do I do it? I'm not an alcoholic pothead, for one.

I don't care if he painted the Mona Lisa and built the Colossus of Rhodes, if he looks like he's been drug down the road on his face, I am not under any obligation to say otherwise based on past achievements. Got it? Good.

And let's get this one straight for the last time: EVH did not influence "EVERYONE" to play the guitar. For "MANY" of us, it was Iommi, Rhoads, Lynch, Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Smith/Murray, Downing/Tipton, Blackmore, Trower, SRV, etc etc etc.

Out of those, the only one who got anything from EVH were Lynch and Rhoads, and even then it was very little.

If EVH's playing put wood in your pocket, yay for you, but don't insult me by assuming it does the same for me. He was good, but I've heard better.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

I thought Ed was dating the press agent or someone handlin' some management aspect of the band. Eh,..Roth gives payback for the last stint of 'Roth reunion'.. me wise magic.. indeed.

Betcha it comes back. I'm guessing Roth pulled a late starter to hold firm for bringing back Mike, especially since he wants it to be the "original" VH and he's on good terms with Mike from touring the past few years. And then Ed won't back down on Wolfie. So the compromise will end up being Mike back in the fold doing his usual bass & vocals, with Wolfie playing a rhythm guitar role instead.
