And let's get this one straight for the last time: EVH did not influence "EVERYONE" to play the guitar. For "MANY" of us, it was Iommi, Rhoads, Lynch, Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Smith/Murray, Downing/Tipton, Blackmore, Trower, SRV, etc etc etc.

Out of those, the only one who got anything from EVH were Lynch and Rhoads, and even then it was very little.

If EVH's playing put wood in your pocket, yay for you, but don't insult me by assuming it does the same for me. He was good, but I've heard better.
    "snookums"?
Where is the sexual harrassment laws here, I feel violated! :ROTF:

Look, I'm not saying EVERYONE was influence by him or whatever, but what boggles mind mind is reading on here how eddie was so great at this and that, and then those same people rip him because he's getting old and beat. Well, the people that rip him would problably like to have a shot at living the life he's been able to lead, all of us(or at least most of us) would, a lot of us picked up the guitar when we were young was to meet girls and play on stage in front of as many people as possible.
And it's not just eddie, I've read Zack, Randy, get ripped here also. there isn't one famous player that everone loves, so i'm not questioning why eddie is getting ripped, not everybody likes him and that's fine, but he's getting ripped because he's old and looks like hell, which honestly, who cares, do you wanna listen to his music, or cuddle up next to him? Everybody has a prime, and everybody goes past there prime, big deal, he past his prime, but it seems like the jealousy is on full alert that now he's old, let's rip him because we couldn't when he was on top. If that's what gets you off and makes you feel better, wonderful, I just don't get it.

And then Ed won't back down on Wolfie. So the compromise will end up being Mike back in the fold doing his usual bass & vocals, with Wolfie playing a rhythm guitar role instead.
That would actually be a pretty classy move on Dave's part.

Read this from the Van Halen News Desk - this clears it up a bit more for everyone...

Melodicrock & the VHND address the Tour Postponement Rumors
          February 21st, 2007

A new rumor has been circulating that says the Van Halen tour has been "indefinitely postponed". But don't worry - the tour will very likely still happen this summer.

Melodicrock.com issued a Van Halen update in response to the rumors yesterday, saying in part:

"I am told that this postponement should be just that - a temporary situation that can be sorted so that the dates that had been arranged can be re-booked and announced down the track somewhat. The band is unlikely to comment beyond the fact the tour will (at this stage) start later than originally planned. The line-up for this tour remains Eddie, Wolfgang & Alex Van Halen and frontman David Lee Roth."

Also, the VHND's own sources are telling us not to worry and that the tour is indeed going to happen. We know that the date that the tickets were to go on sale has been pushed back from late February to sometime in March. We are hoping that the main reason for this delay is to coincide the official announcement of tour dates with Van Halen's March 12th induction to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Another rumor we want to address - we are surprised to see that some websites are saying that Van Halen is currently being managed by Eddie's girlfriend. While it is true that Eddie's girlfriend is the band's publicist, the band's manager for the last three years is Irving Azoff.

The whole thing with Mike and Eddie is just a power play. Neither one of those guys will ever need money again. So when you've got all the money you need, it becomes about power. I'd much rather see some nameless, faceless studio musician playing bass and covering the backups like the Stones did than see Wolfgang mash out some bass parts for no other reason than he's Eddie's kid.

I *may* see this tour, just to say I did, but I won't pay crazy high ticket prices for it. The last time I saw VH was way back on the Monsters of Rock tour, and they bored me so bad I left the stadium, went back to the parking lot and drank beer.

Yes Sir, some of those grooves, feel and timing such as meanstreet, this is love, light up the sky, in a simple rhyme, judgement day, the seventh seal, me wise magic is pretty fucking demading!!!!

I had to focus more on that stuff than stuff like "shy boy"..

I think some people just think of Mike as look mom I'm playing with one hand to ..Runnin' or the drop D groove to Unchained..those are "easy"..but there is much more to Mike than many think..including myself.

you learn 50+ VH bass lines "note for note" , then come back and talk to me..

                Mike IS 1/4 Van Halen!

People rag on Eddie because he looks like he acts these days: like a drunk, washed up bozo. After the way the iguana shagger has behaved the last few years, and the last tour, why any surprise?

Of course the image is touched up. BBs are no different, than a junior high school girl's washroom, except that the girls voices come from aging, paunchy men that wish to be 15 again, my self not excluded. With that, I'll bet that Dave's ankles look fat.

About the cancellation. I heard on a radio station the the problem is that Valerie wont allow Wolfie to tour with them as hes just 15 and she has final say in that stuff. Concerned mom? Would you let your 15 year old kid tour with VH? Maybe she's worried that he would come back from the tour an alcoholic or drug addict or something.
