Forgive me if I've missed something, but isn't basically the hole race boring as hell? I mean, the drive around and around and around.... and around... What's the thing with NASCAR? I've never really understood that. When it comes to motorsports, Rally is alot more exciting, and fun to watch.

I agree for the most part. But my dad really loves NASCAR and its a whole different deal when you are actually down there driving on the track. his Boss sent him to do the Richard Petty Experience up at Louden in New Hampshire and he said theres nothing else like it. And now my Sister, Mother, and I are sending him again for his christmas present I can understand how the families of the drivers are always nervous and worried because when he was on the track last time I was so worried that he was going to crash. But all was well and he looked like he was high when he got out of the car

If you want to become a true NASCAR fan "Go to a RACE" there is nothing else like it.
Go stand next to the fence when they come by at 180+ mph it will take your breath.
Same thing with the NHRA, stand on the fence when a Top Fuel or Funny Car go by
You can't compare it to any other type of reacing.

Oh, and screw Harvick, Mark Martin should have won that race

Oh!!! the irony. I turned the race off at lap 105. I just love Mark Martin. It would have been great to watch the end. But, I just got so bored I couldn't watch anymore. Like I had anything better to do.:ROTF:

I been to a few NASCAR races and prefer local Friday , Saturday night racing.Superspeedway racing is boring in person. They are much better on TV.The NHRA is my favorite nothing like the ground shaking when the TF & FCs take off.Makes NASCAR look very tame.

I wanted Martin to win also but have no problem with Harvick winning it.

Should've left the TV on - there were actually a lot of exciting crashes.

The formula Nascar uses on the restrictor plate races usually ensures there will be a close finish, keep all the cars on the same lap, and bunch em all up at the end, and more than likely you will get some fireworks of some kind. Like I've said before, its exciting, but its not racing, While I am a Mark Martin fan, I agree with Nascar in not throwing the yellow flag until they crossed the line

maybe they should have heats like hydro-planes. let 8 or so cars do 10 or so laps. then the top 3 in each heat go for it in the final 20 laps.

Don't know about NASCAR but I had that experience with NHRA. You really have to be there to appreciate it. Totally different experience!

LOL, I'm just a car guy. Burt has made some great car movies that I still love watching to this day. Smokey & The Bandit, Stroker Ace, Cannonball Run, Hooper, all quickly come to mind.
