I've had sinus/septum/turbinate surgery twice. The first time was a HORRIBLE experience from a doctor that didn't give a shit. Worst experience ever and my condition didn't improve at all. So 2 years later I had it done again by a pro and wow what a difference.

Yes, you should plan to basically be laid up for a couple days and fairly inactive for about a week. The first couple days post-op do suck, but for me it was worth it.

Just make DAMN sure to check the docs references! I'm serious, call some people he's worked on or get a referral from a reliable source...

Oh and BTW, my second time around the doc did not use packing thank god. On my first surgery the packing basically healed to the inside of my head and I had to wait about a month before it disolved (they couldn't pull it out). It was awful!!! If you can find a good plastic surgeon (rather than an ear/nose throat specialist), they have different techniques.

Did that already. This guy has a good rep. If not, I'll be like a mofo next week.

Thanks to all for the advice and insight before I went into it. Its done, I'm ok, but someone forgot to mention the step where the doctor ties the end of the packing to the bumper of his '69 Vet before peeling out of the driveway...................:ROTF: :ROTF: ..fukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!

I felt like my nose was being violated. They did a lot more than they said they were gonna do, so I'm a little sore, but Ok..

        Thanks guys.

Ah, so that's how they do it now? No more tying to a 2-ton grand piano and dumping it out the 17th floor window?

(sorry i just read powertube's house paint thread )
