    SERIAL NUMBER : U14232

This was sent 2 months ago to a chap in Chicago. It never got there, Canada Post isnt offering any help. I am out a LOT of money on this guitar and sold it off to pay for schooling costs. I have to refund the amount full to the buyer.

Anyhow, It is unique in that it is a burnt Cherry Burst SL2H with APC pickups. IF by chance anyone see's it in a pawn shop or the 'bay, please contact me via PM or email as I would love to be compensated for my loss, or find out what happened to it.

    Thanks.

Actually, my worst guitar nightmare involves Carvin making a 25.5 inch scale DC series, in which case I would be forced to sell my car to buy 3 or 4 new Carvins

On a side note, with Canada Post expedited, I wasnt able to insure it for full value. I can expect a cheque for 1/3 of it's value in 6-8 weeks.

Man, I'm bummed to hear about this. Hope it works out & the guitar turns up. You might want to post this in the General section or have an admin move this thread, then add your email addy, because that way non-registered guests will see the post & will have a way to let you know if they see it. They can't read the non-J/C section. The more who see it the better.

Man, I am terribly sorry to see this happen! I don't want to rub salt in the wound, but you should NEVER, EVER ship a guitar insured for less than full value. Find an carrier that will insure it properly next time. Was there no tracking on it, so you could find where it was last seen?

              Beautiful guitar, too....

Lex, yes there was tracking, and it literally "fell off the radar". The rep I spoke to offered "little" help in terms of what happened.

The guitar cost me 83$ to ship. In order for me to
ship with UPS for full value the cost was pretty much double. Ive never had any issues and rarely send an overly valuable guitar. Either way, the money I would have saved is moot now!

When I took her in to the outlet, I wasnt aware the expedited insurance limit was limited. The next step was double the shipping cost.

So a little cheapness lost me a LOT of money. Needless to say, I have one more guitar to get rid of , then the Ebay and Paypal accounts are going on a permanent vacation :s

Thanks for the support though. I think you guys feel the same way knowing theres a chance it could be stolen by some unappreciative fuck wanting to pawn it off, ir it being sold at a "lost items" USPS lot and bought by some snotnose kid who will end up destroying it and it'll end up in some pawnshop half cut apart looking like Rons old Shotgun soloist.

The money sucks, but losing an awesome guitar in mint shape that was sold to an excited buyer who told me "was buying his first Jackson because he wanted to get in on the Jackson scene" is equally as bad.

I know its a longshot but this one is on the Bay but with different pickups. no serial is listed. Probably not it, but hell I'll keep my eyes open.

Man! That sucks - I was the runner-up on your auction, loved that finish! (you'll remember I got a phony "second chance offer" from some phisher out there - bastards!)

Don't kick yourself for stepping up for the extra insurance - another $83 is pure theivery. This stuff happens, and karma will pay you back in the end...

Shipping to the states from Canada has more then doubled since 9/11 and the gas increases.

Keep in mind it was double boxed and double insulated with bubbles/and wrap. Ive heard of boxes smashed, but completely missing packages?!? Especially large ones. I asked the Agent if it could have been stolen, and he said that seeing as how it was labelled as fragile and insured for that amount, a possible theft or "inner issue" could be more then likely. Apparently 30 pound packages that are huge dont slip behind machines and hide that often.

I hope they find the bastard who pinched this one, I'll have my eye out for it! I'd keep an eye on craigslist and the Canadian version in the areas you think it may have left the route. Best of luck!

That sucks. If they suspect that it was an inside deal, they should reimburse you fully.
