I'm thinking how the heck they just stoled that riff...from another local musician..... they think no one wouldn't notice it and they can get away with this? Specially when that musician is Bill Z Bub? This is weird.

I mean there's nothing new about those notes there, many use diminished runs and whatnot, but Bill's riff had a certain rhythm and certain structure how the ascending and descending runs are played. Anyone can come up with similar riff but this is fucking stealing. Normally the original writer would be screwed without the copyright but luckly Bill's a local badass and beyond the law

You can only copywrite melody. Chords, changes and passages you can't.
If these guys are a garage band with no label contract - don't sweat it- they are going nowhere.
I'd see it as a compliment that they thought highly enough of your stuff to use it. Move on.......write more stuff.......let it go.

They obviously can't write their own stuff - why don't you tell 'em you'll write FOR them (but copywrite all of it in your name)
