Naw he isn't easily replaceable!! He is a bad ass bassplayer!! Besides the shit we play(15 originals) would take a good bassplayer at least a couple months to catch up on half the shit we got on our list! He's a real nice guy too, I don't know what happened?? But he did say that it would never happen again!! Of course this is when I told him and the rest of the band that they we are all responsible for moving your own shit next time! I partially blame my singer too, cuz he was nowhere to be found during this shit!! But after I was finally ready to go he showed up on stage!!
    I love admins!

i hated my old bassist, we were doing a cover of crazy train as an encore in a medium sized gig (470 people) when before the solo he starts to try out slapping and tapping and completely messes up the groove!
Say, I smell bacon.Does anyone else smell bacon?
Yeah, I definitely smell a pork product of some type.

I'd suggest a serious band meeting because it didn't just screw you but the whole band. The amount of professionalism you put in will follow you and your reputation. Unless he's a complete tard, that most likely won't happen again......
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

So, after the show did you help him move his stuff?
or did he do it himself?

No offense Matt but ..not necessarily.. I would think after the 'band' chastised him for a situation that effected the entire band he wouldn't pull it again, maybe something else, but not a reenactment of that particular senario.

Bass cabs are a lot heavier than guitar cabs. Don't ever help him set up unless he's helped you first. Just do your own rig and help the drummer.

Being both a guitarist and bassist, I'm used to hauling my own gear, setting up without help, etc. A good cab with good casters really helps. Bass gear is usually heavier. And bass gear is easier to soundcheck... just get the direct input and make sure the board is set right, guitar gear is much harder to soundcheck.

We both have casters, it's just the stage had steps going up to it etc... he didn't help us after either, of which I coulda cared less, but the short set did go well!!

I basicly explain it to the band that YOU are not off the stage untill we are all off the stage. The next band or the show arganizer or whatever is going to say that band didn't get thier shit off the stage very quick, not that drummer or bass player or whatever.

If it's the first time it's happened, I'd say you can cut him some slack. Let the first of us who's never acted like a c*cksocket stand up...everybody has a bad day and does something stupid.

You bass player is a dick, no question about that but what size of rig do you have that you can't load it on stage yourself, do you have a huge rack that weighs a million pounds or something?

I've loaded/unloaded multiple 4x12 and amp heads myself before. Steps are a bitch but I have no problm lifting 4x12's.
