That's really sad. 1/3 of the people did not make it out.
I didn't see many people going back in to try helping people get out.
Even the camera man was just sitting there filming when he should have gone back in...The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

Actually, it's an eye opener in a way to make you more aware of you surroundings when in that sort of situation.
It's tragically sad to see, but, it sure is a wake up call. Since that happened, and the Dime bag shooting as well, I am so much more in tune with stuff that is happening behind the scenes and what people are doing around me at shows. There is so much potential for ill shit to happen. You can see there the cameraman was on it and getting out before most people realized it was happening.
On a side note. I was at a Queensryche show not long after the Dime shooting, and a guy ran up onto the stage with a gun threatening (as a part of operation mindcrime show) and I was freaking quite a bit for a second till I realized it wasn't real... But, it all came to mind seeing him there. He's actually lucky a cop or some do-gooder from the audience didn't jump up and shoot his ass in the confusion. I think a lot of others were taken aback besides me as well.

Like trying to orchestrate a wild animal stampede, it would be somewhat futile and an extreme likelyhood that you would be trapped in the mess very quickly with no way of saving anyone including yourself.
All you coud do would to be near the door dragging people out. And most people just arent that type of thinker to be such a leader or hero as to even contemplate actions like that.
Sad stuff... terribly sad...

I hope my vocalist doesn't see that...he lost 2 good friends in that fire. Both were like 20. Horrible.Dreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal

I knew Ty Longley who was playing guitar for them and passed away in the fire. We grew up in the same area and his first band opened for one of my bands back in 1988 - he was a great player and a super cool guy.
This is really sad - I hope that the families and friends of people lost never see this, but I will defend the rights of us as Americans to allow it to be out there for those who do want to see it.
that's all I have to say.
