I remember first hearing that crack in the 80s - in a mag, maybe? Still cracks me up.

I got hit with (and caught) a KISS pick in the late 80s. I didn't see where it came from - but it is about as thick as the hood of a 55 Ford, so I always thought it was Gene's. He was close enough to me for it to have been him. IIRC, no name on the flip side (just "KISS").

It was 1989/90 at the Starwood Club in Hollywood. I was there to check out Quiet Riot and Legs Diamond. Randy Rhoads flicked a pick that struck me right between the eyes. It then proceeded to fall into my shirt where it stayed the rest of the night. I found it in my shirt when I got home that night. It is your standard Fender med tortiseshell type pick. I also have a couple from VanHalen that he and Michael Anthony gave me when they stopped by our van in the Long Beach Arena parking lot after a UFO concert back in I think 81 or 82 I'm not sure. We were blasting the new VH Cassette at extreme volume. They drank a couple of beers with us and hung out until the parking lot cleared out maybe 45 minutes or so. They were very cool and low key. Mike A. was driving a restored VW van maybe an early 60's that was very clean. iturns out that they had parked just a few stalls over.

My son got a stick at someone's famous concert. He had an advantage on the catch. He's 6'5".:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: It could have put his eye out.

I haven't caught many but I got some from head at a Korn show, though Dimebag (call ma damn it) pick at a Pantera show is way more collectable! That was a LUCKY catch!! Though my most prized posession is my Sound of Perseverence cd that was signed by Chuck and the rest of the guys back in 99!!
                I love admins!

Damn, I didn't know Stryper threw bibles at the crowd. Makes sense tho.

Yeah, when I saw Yngwie. Of course, he shoots them out like a Mini-Gun spraying the Cong..and I had to pick it up from the floor, but I got one.

Oh, yeah..I took my fiance' to that show and she loved it.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Only pick I've got is from Dimebag from a Pantera concert in summer 1996.

I caught a pick from Scott Hill of Skid Row during a show. Damn thing actually hit me in the eye and landed at my feet. George Lynch gave me one of his picks. I've also found and received several picks after shows. Jesse James Dupree of Jackyl, Rachel Bolan of Skid Row and James Lomenzo of Black Label Society.

Maybe it was supposed to say 79/80?
If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit. Unless you are a table.

I have a Running Wild pick. Picked it up from the floor when they played the Keystone Palo Alto back around 1986-ish with VoiVod and Celtic Frost. Worst concert ever with probably a dozen people in attendance.

A few years ago the VoiVod dudes were hanging out at the same club (it had changed names to the Icon) when BLS was playing. I spoke with the singer and gave him shit about the show. We laughed about it and I told him it was a horrible concert. He was totally cool and told me all about his recent immigration problems. One of the VoiVod guys gave me a bunch of stickers.
