  • How the hell did that happen???

As alot of you know I've been through hell and back with my wife and step-daughters in the past 8 1/2 years that I was married, culminating with finding my wife dead on my couch back on January 5th. My wife's will stated the kids would go to the custody of other relatives since she never changed it when we got married. So now I'm single with no children.

I just realized that somehow I have made it to six months of sobriety as of today. How the hell that happened I don't know but it did and I'm sure glad I've made it this far and I plan to keep the streak alive one day at a time!!!

Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

So cool man. I am on 13+ years from my addiction and it still haunts me sometimes but you just keep plugging away.
It's ghey to say sometimes but i live by the rule....

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, the courage to change the things i can, and the wisdom to know the difference"

True in so many facets of our life. PM me if you need a pep talk. Been there man, and wouldn't be here typing this if it wasn't for my bros holding my ass up. I too did it without family but i am now married 10+ years, great home and some killer guitars. It gets better my friend !!

Glad you have stayed strong and don't trigger that allergy. You have had plenty of reasons to drink without a question but you have more reasons not to and thank goodness you have been able to see through that during these times.

                          Watching girls go passing by
                          It ain't the latest thing
I'm just standing in a doorway
I'm just trying to make some sense
Out of these girls go passing by
The tales they tell of men
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend

A smile relieves a heart that grieves
                          Remember what I said
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend
I'm just waiting on a friend

                          Don't need a whore
                          I don't need no booze
                          Don't need a virgin priest
But I need someone I can cry to
                          I need someone to protect
                          Making love and breaking hearts
It is a game for youth
But I'm not waiting on a lady
