I hate Supertramp

I'm with Zeegs as far as the singer, but lately when I hear older stuff that I'm not really fond of like Supertramp, ELO, J Tull, etc., I can't help but think that those were pretty good times for music. Shit, back then everybody at least had talent & knew how to play, even bands we scoffed at & wouldn't give a second listen to like REO Speedwagon or whatever. The recordings & production were amazing, too, and seemed like they had way better dynamics than most of what you hear now. Most everything now seems more compressed, at least in rock.

exactly, that was a time when great bands got lost in the crowd, to achieve the level of sucess that they did, at that time period, is pretty impresive, I must admit they were not among my favorite bands

oh.. comon.. those power chords with the slide in the intro of ELO's "do you want my love" were freakin cool!

Tull used to be much more of a blues based band on their first album.. but Aqualung was a classic..locomotive breath is a great tune. IMO.

No argument from me. I guess I just mean we were spoiled, and I had lots of other bands I liked so much more at the time. I end up on the classic rock station most of the time when I drive nowadays, and end up realizing how good some of the stuff I blew off was.
