Let me see... where will anna nicole smith's body be buried, who is going to be the next president, will gas prices go up? There are 200 kids dying every day in Africa. Rich people like Bono and Gates just draw attention to the problem. Let them do their thing. If one does not want to contribute to the cause, dont stop in the way of people trying to do some good is my stand on the subject. America is spending $370 million per day ... or some huge amount like that for the war in Iraq. Just imagine how many kids can get food with that money.

As much as there is wrong here in the USA, it pales in comparison to Africa. That comment just seems to come from someone that doesn't really know the dire conditions that are going on there. That's my take...

So what if Bono wants to spend time talking about the problem over there. Who in the US is talking about it? No one that can do any good. Do you think that all the cash he has raised has gone into his pocket? Come on, that's absurd. So he can talk all he wants, at least he's talking...

I would love to see the "books" on all those "Aid" concerts. There is no question that Africa and just about all the rest of the world is a basket case. But, just how far from home does it go when it comes to real help by individuals? All I know is that I can't worry too much about the rest of the world when we have people here, in the US, sleeping on streets or living in abject poverty. I am not an isolationist. There are way too many people here that need help. We can't take care of the rest of the world when there are millions of people here that need help.

Jesus. America has its problems, yes. But they pale in comparison to other places like Africa which are inevitably much more serious on a global scale. It's just egocentrism.

I can't say I like Bono much, but at least he tries to convey the message. Hell, he's doing more in making causes known than thousands of other people with rockstar fame out there, so kudos to him.
