LOS ANGELES — Eddie Van Halen has said he will enter rehab for unspecified reasons.
In a statement addressed to fans Thursday on Van Halen's Web site, the guitarist said he decided to seek treatment because "at the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best."
"That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110 percent that I feel I owe you and want to give you," the statement said.
It wasn't known whether Van Halen will attend his band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during a ceremony Monday in New York.
The operator of Van Halen's Web site declined to release further details.

Hopefully it sticks. HE has a long history of abuse to uproot and addicts just don't forget. I wish him the best I really do. Addicts/Alcoholics really screw up thier personal relationships and Eddie is the picture poerfect case for it. Hopefully he wants the help this time and he does good with it. I am pulling for him.I keep the bible in a pool of blood
So that none of its lies can affect me

It was during the "balance" era/time when he got somewhat cleaned up.
Like most alcoholic's that recieve treatment, not all but most, He went right back to drinking and drug use again.
Its a tough reality that many have to accept and face and it determines their success or failure as recovering alcoholic's. You know, "can I do this" attitude. When the evils of recovering present themselves am I strong and stable enough to say no to alcohol and even more so strong and stable enough stick to it to see the positives of living a sober life.
Unfortunate for Ed, his fall back, led to a even darker, unable to help himself Edward, that many couldn't stand or tolerate to be around let alone do business with. Like Val, you reach a point when all the support and love doesn't help, because he or he doesn't want to help themselves, and family moves on. Basically, the alcoholic has got to want to live. Alcohol not only destroys marriages, jobs and etc, but most importantly to the alcoholic it will erode away at and eventually destroy his or her mental and physical health and inevitably kill them dead. Its sad and frustrating all at the same time to see alcoholic's mess their lives up. Its never to late to wise up and start a new, I wish Ed all the luck and good help he can get cause he is gonna need it.Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.
