Wonder what G-dub will have to say about it.

I would guess he'll ignore it like everything else that doesn't fit into his own vision of reality.

Are these guys leaving Dodge before congress starts looking into them? Do we have an extradition treaty with Doobie?

“This is an insult to the U.S. soldiers and taxpayers who paid the tab for their no-bid contracts and endured their overcharges for all these years,” said judiciary committee chairman Sen. Patrick Leahy, a Vermont Democrat.

Not so. There was a 6% profit margin (published and available) on all war-related contracts. The deal was that if they took a hit on their margins, the government would agree to award them with a no-bid contract on all related projects.

Haliburton actually saved the US government millions of dollars in contract bids by accepting the deal....but you won't see THAT on CNN.

You're actually defending Halliburton? How do you feel about the debacle at Walter Reed?

Perception is reality. It doesn't matter what the facts are with Helliburton. Congress is going to but them in a branch shredder. That's the way it is.

I'm not defending anyone - just stating facts.

Walter Reed hospital, as are all the Vet hospitals - a sad situation.
But this has been ignored for decades under both democrat and republican administrations -they are equally to blame through WWII, Korea, Nam & Desert Storm.
At least it's getting the needed attention now.

Government is fuck up no matter who's in charge- always has been, always will be.

I thought it was cool when Halliburton supplied our troops with their drinking and bathing water (contracted) and when tested it was found to be toxic, now their profits will be even bigger without the 'burden' of paying taxes! I would like to know if those 'profit margins' come from Halliburton's books which are beyond suspect. I also liked them charging us $85.98 for a $14.06 peice of plywood in the Balkans, sounds like a good stock to get. The crap this company pulls on us tax payers goes on and on, these a small examples of a very large problem. Check them out further before towing the line and reading their excuses as fact.

Unfortunately, they will never be held accountable.

That's the sad part of it all.
