    Yes, thanks..I already had it..

You can see that there was definite studio "magick" with Ted Templeman..the tone was almost there..but it was highly polished to what we all heard in 1978.

If Ed's tone actually sounded just like that on their debut in '78..I don't think he would have caused the Tsunami he did..

His tone wasn't far removed what was going on already..a cranked Marshall..very standard, classic rock sounding indeed...and some of those songs actually sucked.

Funny thing is VH almost didn't get signed because they didn't like Dave's voice..going by this demo..you can hear why..he turned it up ALOT on the record.
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
    Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

Sweet! Thanks, I dig demo/unreleased/cover songs. Kinda feels like it makes you a little more 'in the know' than the average joe.

Is this the demo that Gene Simmons financed?

                        *bump*

Seeing how there's some VH interest sparked recently, I thought I'd update this for everyone...

Cool, thanks. I have had the 76 Demo for a long time, and the Magic Mountain and Starwood gigs.

Be interested in the Exodus Demo with Hamster you mentioned too.

what a difference when you change the lead singer spot in this band. Dave's attitude and swagger almost did as much as
Eddie's guitar work did to put them where they still reign in my eyes, at the top of American hard rock.
The original lineup and first 4 albums melt other records, sonically perfect to this day.
Not helping the situation since 1965!
