  • How do you pronounce Hamer?

Ive always pronounced it Hammer, like forever, so did my friends. Then when the slammer series series came out, it made sense as it rhymed, Hammer Slammer. So, tonight a friend comes into my store to tell me about this sick looking guitar he saw at a store. He said it was a Hamer (hay-mer). I said, oh, a hammer. He said no, the guy said its a a haymer. He said its spelled Hamer but the guy says its a haymer. I think the guy is nuts. How do you pronounce Hamer?

Hay-mer. There's only one M, why would anyone think it's hammer?

              Hay-mer
I agree with Toejam. It only has 1 "m," thus it's hay-mer, not hammer.

Interesting. So then its a Haymer Slammer. That just sounds so stupid. I thought it was German and pronounced Hammer. Why would they name a guitar line slammer if its pronounced Haymer? I could swear that Ive heard Rick Neilsen pronounce it Hammer in interviews. No one has ever corrected me on this either. I dunno. My whole world is crumbling around me.

                    Ask on the Hamer forum.

Actually found a thread about it there.
I've heard people pronouce it 'Ha - mer' and others pronouce it 'hammer'. Which is it?

I found a video on Youtube of some guy reviewing a Hamer standard and it sounds like hes trying to say Hammer with a Chicago accent, which he has. They are a Chicago based company too. I think I found my answer. Blast the Hamer forum!! What do they know.

ah well, if it's on YouTube, it must be right

I saw a big guy with a beard demonstrating how the huskier amongst are still able to hit High C. And despite all the detractors saying he didn't come close to High C, he was adamant that he had.
