That's a lot of Coke, I prefer Pepsi myself, it's the choice of a new generation or something allong those lines.

There will always be people wanting to take drugs and people who wont, it's a fact of life. My personal opinion is that if you want to do something and you don't hurt anyone else then it's fine by me, if you don't that's also fine, to each their own.

I'm agnostic when it comes to the argument about legalization, you could argue that prohabition didn't work in the US in the early part of the last centrury (it still feels weird calling it the last century, Jesus H Christ on chopsticks when did I get so old?) but you could also argue that legalizing it doesn't take away any of it's problems, as an example alcohol abuse is still prevelant throughout most western societies.

As for drugs being bad and causing people to go off the rails or whatnot, most of the succesfull people I know have taken more than their fair share of various things, and on the whole they are fairly well adjusted people, even the ones that that are in the human zoo that is the entertainment industry. But they do fuck up some people, and even prove fatal to some. However I think it's more to do with the individual than the actual substance.

I think a better way is to educate people about this stuff, not declare war on it. Educated people can make an informed choice about things they are considering doing.

I don't think that drug taking can be stopped, primitive people have always made or concocted things to produce an altered state, so I think it's kind of ingrained in our society. I think what we need to do is to understand and to deal with the issues in a more responsible way. But seeing we're all human I think that's probably never going to happen, unless we all start living in some Star Trek utopian world. Mind you I'd never be doing any work apart from sitting under Lt. Uhura's communication console staring up her skirt!

Anyway that's my opinon, you may or may not agree, which is entirely your perogative.

I'm off to take my drug of choice now, cake with a nice cup of tea.
