We as a nation fucked up when Iran had that huge earthquake. Hundreds of thousands dead. Not that they as a political entity deserved any humanitarian assistance, but people are people. We missed a good opportunity to set aside the apprehension and help tens of thousands of victims. Couldn't have hurt the political situation. When it comes to tragedy, the political bullshit should be put on the back burner.

We did help them with humanitarian aid. Did you miss that?

If you reduce the problem to the essentials, it looks like this...

You're the baddest cat in town. You have a triple black belt in several martial arts. You can hit a gnat's eye at three hundred paces with a rusty antique rifle. You have enough money to buy and sell small countries with pocket change.

There's a guy living in your town who's kinda stupid, dirt poor, and a wimp to boot. He hates your guts, and keeps calling you out. No matter what you say to him, he doesn't leave it alone. You even gave him some money to help him out, but it didn't make a difference. Instead of using the money for food or to go to school, he bought a gun. The other day, he pulled the gun on your wife and kids. He didn't pull the trigger, but he roughed them up a bit.

There are no cops in this town. Nobody likes you because they're scared of you and jealous of your money. What do you do?

Great analogy, it's confusing so many nations hate us when we offer the most humanitarian aid, military security globally, and willing to sacrifice our own for the greater good of the people (ironically enough, that sounds like it could have been quoted from Hilary Clinton or a Nancy Pelosi, but when push comes to shove, their own socialist ideologies have nothing to do with what they say.)

That's why the world hates Israel. It's a smaller microcosm of the US to them and the world is generally anti-jew/anti-christian. Those that read the good book know how this will play out in the end, so it doesn't matter.

The analogy needs a little elaboration though. Imagine the US is composed of numerous serparate States, the borders of which were in almost all cases decided by European great powers 100 years ago, the rulers of which are in all cases despotic tyrannies, be they Islamic or secular. Now, taken together this imaginary North American region is largely a stinking shithole of backwardness, misery, ignorance, poverty, and failure. And it maintains this horrible state even though blessed with fantastic natural resources. An incredible bounty of natural resources required by entire world. Low and behold, the little Chinese sponsored New Jersey succeeds in surviving and actually flourishes over the course of 3/4 of a century. Amid the greater garbage dump they are surrounded by they literally make the armpit of the US flourish and unlike anywhere else in North America contribute to world progress in science and the arts in quality and quantity that compares favorably to almost anywhere else in the world given the population. And they do it with less natural resources, less people, and yes , even less help from their Chinese sponsors than is given to the miserable states that surround them. Wouldn't you be pissed too?

They have to.If they let it go now,they'll lose prestige.If it was for another country,they would do the same.



The soldiers probably crossed the border.I can't sya if it was by purpose or not.But I don't think they'll harm the soldiers.They're just expecting an apology.It's a prestige thing.

The Brits wouldn't parade them around on TV and release obvious false/coerced confessions to the media.
It would all be handled behind the scenes like it's supposed to.
What they (Iran) are doing violates a number of international laws regarding the treatment of military prisoners.
