  • www.paintyourownguitar.com - anyone tried it?

So I just got the e-book from www.paintyourownguitar.com on how to paint your own bengal tiger, and I bought a unfinished alder strat body routed for single hum and Floyd off ebay.

The book looks good, but it's time consuming and a lot of work. Has anyone else tried his methods? Any pointers or warnings?

And I guess I should ask as a newb, how do you feel about building frank-n-copies, as long as the guitar is for my own personal rocking? I don't want to piss anyone off here.

    Here's my goal:

    thanks,
    Wally

      Thanks for the links!

But I checked out his pages, and it looks like both attempts ended up with incomplete or unsatisfying results. It seems like a serious challenge!

I bought a copy of the book and have done one guitar so far. It takes time and the only bad parts of my finished job were down to me cutting corners. My next one will take longer but I'm sure it will come out that little bit better. One thing I've seen lately is that the guy who wrote the book is now recommending that you do not use Krylon. I can't get Krylon over here so I never used it anyway, just cans of autospray.

Looks like one of them Saga kit guitars.
Except this one is a set neck instead of a bolt-on.
Got a nice looking piece of flame for the top.

I love how they don't show the full headstock on most of the kits.
            Good prices though.
