why the fuck they don't make good ol' westerns and adventure movies anymore, there's too much of that fantasy bullshit going on lately, that's way too gay for my taste, I want all the macho crap back.

It costs too much. I am a '60's kid and we lived on Westerns. A movie ticket was 25 cents.:ROTF: Are you talking like "High Noon" or the 60's Guy Madison flicks or the Clit Eastwood "Spagetti" Westerns? Or the old TV Westerns? God, it's good to be in America.:ROTF: Any Western made after 1977 is just crap and "Revisionist" history.Last edited by fett; 04-06-2007, 04:24 PM.I am a true ass set to this board.

I grew up on Maverick; Wanted Dead or Alive; The Rebel; The Rifleman and all the rest of those great TV Westerns. I exercise my brain at night trying to think of all the Westerns that aired from the '50's through the '70's. There was a ton.I am a true ass set to this board.

I hate most of the comic books based shit, I don't like Harry Potter and Eragon type of movies, I absolutely loathe LOTR with all its gay hobbits and elves. And there's actors like Orlando Bloom on most of those type of movies... can't get any gayer than this.
And there's very little humour in those flicks, all the characters seem to be disturbigly anguished.
All great western and adventure movies had cool and cocky characters who had sense of humour and were womanizers. There were allways some badass character. Clint Eastwood and John Wayne were amazing or even more hollywood pretty-boy looking Gregory Peck and James Stewart did a good job on many flicks. Even adventure movies had same type of characters.... Indiana Jones is the obvious one off course.
I loved all the western types, the ridiculous shooting ones, the adventurous ones like Mackenna's Gold or more serious westerns wich John Ford made. I also loved pshychological westerns, Clint did some pretty scary ones.... way more scarier than all those stupid gore horror movies... without having any horror. Ohh... and Bonanza kicked ass.
Yeah those movies were like dick measuring contests but they were manly.
Jeez, even those old Walt Disney family/adventure flicks were way more manlier than all these fantasy movies.... btw. I loved those Disney films."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

History fact: In the old US movies you could not see the shootor and the shootee in the same frame when the shot was fired. It was like we weren't supposed to put 1 and 1 together.:ROTF: And here's another one. When the Board came along, any scene with a man and a woman on a bed one person had to have a foot on the floor. The best erotic scene even was the swimming scene in the original Tarzan.Last edited by fett; 04-06-2007, 04:57 PM.I am a true ass set to this board.

Here's another fact. Yeah, they shot those movies in Utah during our above ground nuke tests in Nevada. The soil in Utah was contaminated. John Wayne and crew shot. I forgot the name. He was a barbarian. That actually may be the name of the movie. A lot of the people on that set developed cancer.I am a true ass set to this board.
