The longer answer: keep looking for opportunity, if it's outside your comfort zone so much the better, ideally get people to pay you to learn new things and expand your marketability. Easier said than done at times but good advice I think.

Whatever you do, the first four jobs you have, never stay there more than three years!!!

Only consider staying if there's a 15% pay increase ~ every year for the first 10 years you work. Unless you luck into an 80-100k/yr job out of school.
      $35,000.00
      $40,250.00
      $46,287.50
      $53,230.63
      $61,215.22
      $70,397.50
      $80,957.13
      $93,100.70
      $107,065.80
      $123,125.67

Never spend a year doing something that isn't a bullet point on your resume. (certification, degree, coursework, etc)

Yeah, sounds like some sort of financial advisor. I wouldn't go near that with a stick though without having the proper creds, Alex or unless you've got your liability water-proof and tight as a coed's cute little butt.

I'm considering going into music production after I get my law degree (which is pretty much a breeze). I was so fucking dumb, not to blow my own trumpet, but I basically got a "all-for-free" card. My advisors and teachers simply told me: "you can do whatever you want, you're capable of it", I meddled with medical school, art history, architecture, jazz school and what have you and I chose fuckin' Law in the end, drawn in by the financial benefits that would bring me. I consider myself blessed, but I handled that "gift" so wrongly and now I'm pretty much fucked for the remaining 6 years of university I've got left. Dropping out is not an option. If I graduate in at least the 80% percentile or higher (which I should be able to) I can get a big $$$ job without even looking for it, but having a desk & papers job....

Problem is I don't give a rat's ass about money anymore. Right now my ideal future would be just leaving everything behind, buying a shack on the beach in Barcelona, rent out some jetski's, work on the broken ones on the beach during day and go party at night. Freedom over money, oh well, dreams, dreams, dreams.

The thing about working from home - you have nowhere to go "home" to at the end of the day.

"Send me just $10 via PayPal and I'll reveal the secret to financial freedom!*"

              * Send out 1000 of the same email, collect the money, retire
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
