I have some war stuff, but not WWII. I have Desert Storm stuff. I have an Iraqi tank license plate, an Iraqi bayonet, and a couple of Special Forces medals.
Speaking of helmets, I hefted a Desert Storm helmet and it weighed a ton. Just the other day, I lifted a WWII helmet with liner and it was way lighter. Interesting question. Are these new helmets causing more injuries because of the weight that impacts the head than the old ones? Or, do they cause more damage? Our fighting guys don't usually get shot in the head. They get blown up. I'm just curious, bored and drunk.
Cool hat Fett! Still has the eagle emblem too! Nice to have the owners name.
?
I bought the hat sans emblem. God bless the fleamarket. This guy was selling millitary stuff and I told him about my hat. He set me up with the correct emblem.
I have a couple of ribbon clusters. And it was a trip to track down the history of them. I was never in the millitary but I admire the hell out of the ones that were or are and were or are making history one way or the other.
I'm 56 and how the fuck old are you? Future Birdman. Bless you. The one thing I know about America is that when there is a call to arms there will be the people. I'm a little jaded here. Because, I did not want to go to Viet Nam in the "60's. And somehow I didn't have to. I am so confused. I think I could have used a good dose of millitary service, but I dodged it.:ROTF:
I'm 15. And the reason you probably didn't want to go is because it was the '60's. Everyone was for peace. Now there isn't enough people that give a damn what happens, as long as they get their chunk of change.

Mike, you have the ability to see how all this stuff shakes out. And I admire your willingness to serve. When it comes time for you to serve maybe there will be some sanity in the world. And I hope and pray that we as a nation will provide the material; the wisdom and the restraint when we put our people in harm's way.
Thanks man. I just want this country to stay free like it was meant to. With all of the terrible things going on today, who knows how long it will be before we end up like some 3rd world country in the middle east.

Mike, all I can say is I'm glad I'm 56 and not 15. I grew up during the Cold War. I had a dream as a kid about a mushroom cloud on a green hill. That was 49 years ago and I still remember it. I just hope that America doesn't let you down. Isn't that the complaint of most counties? "My counrty has let me down"
