  • Its not like the legal system or law hasn't adapted for this either. Nowadays... if a person were to be overheard saying "I should just shoot myself" because of a situation that they are simply felt displeased with on outcome or how it was handled.. they could be be taken to jail. Terroristic threat. This is a form of terrorism underlying in our society. I'm really sickened at the media for making this a senasationalized story. Then they make news of themselves being the ones sensationlizing the issue further making it more public. Shit like this just drags it on.. even my little personal post and opinion in this corner of cyberspace does it in a minor degree. Hopefully I'm not creating a shitstorm for anyone personally by expressing my thoughts. If thats the case... I hope I am done.

It just seems if you arm professors or teachers, and or both facilty and students.. then it becomes a free for all. If a person like Cho is going to premeditate and plan, and he's going to kill himself anyways, then who is goin to be the first person to become a target.. the other person who is most likely to stop him. So.. now if legislation passes for a CCW, it'll tip off as to who should be taken out first whether they are packing or not.

and Danastas, I'm very sorry to hear you lost your hearing in one ear because of a teacher who thought a kid was like an animal. There are some employers who exhibit the same attitude and lawsuits are not always the best deterent. Many individuals I think don't want to stand up and get involved in a lawsuit. There are are lot of lawbreakers out there on the victimizing end of things as well who will never curb abusive attitudes or behavior.

I mostly ignore my hearing loss though it pisses off the wife when I'm the only one who can withstand my amp's loud volume.

My hearing loss is actually repairable, but I've had the operation 3 times and it hasn't taken. Once when I was a kid, and twice as an adult. Each time they remove a fold of skin from my scalp, graft it to the eardrum, and wait for nature to take its course (grow over the graft). Twice I've lost the graft from sneezing, and once from driving in a car through the Berkshires in Massachusetts. It takes a whole year for the graft to set in, and since I've been flying around for my job the last 7 years, there is never an opportunity to have the surgery again--all because of my maniac Catholic school teacher. She wasn't even a Nun! The odd thing, I went back home for my old friend's wedding three years ago, and there was the witch. My friend was marrying her freakin' daughter!! I kept pointing at her while my wife was in my ear telling me to be polite. God help my friend, Mother-in-Law from hell.

      • I have 1 question...

How is NBC releasing the documents this idiot sent them any different than what Don Imus said? Imus lost his job for hurting those basketball players with his speach. I would argue that NBC did much more damage releasing those photos and whatnot. How is that different? Is Al Roker gonna speak up on this one? Any sponsors gonna pull their ad money from NBC? I doubt it. But it doesn't make it any less fucked up...
        I'm angry because you're stupid

Unbelievable... Ya know, if these people do actually get out alive when the do this shit, they need some major charges on them. This is just insane....
Is it the female astronaut's boyfriend?

Just think, we trusted her enough to send her to space in billion dollar equipment. If we actually think we can tell AHEAD of time what's going on in someone's head, we're the deluded insane people.

          • While I agree Cho definitely planned the damage from his videos too..thats like using the first amendment against itself just like terror cells using our own airliners against our own infrastructure. The difference being is that no one called Cho a nappy headed ho or jigayella, and I hope potentially offended can realize that is a sarcastic joke.

If anyone who has a carry permit can carry it on campus, then how does the potential shooter know who to take out first? Chances are they're going to take teachers out first anyway; didn't Cho kill 4 teachers? So if ANYONE, teacher or student, could be carrying, then how would the nutball know who to shoot first?

I suspect a lot more people will start carrying anyway, legal or not. I'd rather get thrown out of school than carried out in a bodybag. Seeing that campuses don't have metal detectors, just hide it in your backpack.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

I suspect your chances of getting caught with gun are much much higher than your chances of being killed by a mass murdering maniac.

                            • that is in reference to IF they allow ccw by faculty thru legislation.
I have a bud who teaches at college level. I'm pretty sure he'll have his gun at least in his vehicle from now on.
Concealing a weapon in your packpack..my nephew got tossed out of school for a year because of such an event with a knife when he was 15 carrying it from his mom's to his dad.
Its a felony just like walking into the post office with a knife on a keychain is a felony IF they were to press it. You don't even have to threaten anyone with it or make it public, they suspect or see anything like it.. you could go to jail.
Fortunately, in my nephews instance. When the copc and school decided to suspend for a year.. he turned such an unfortunate event into a positive. He was at an age and smart enough where he could test for college level courses.. got in and not only graduated with his diploma but a two year college degree at the same time. He still however will have a felony on his juvi record that doesn't go away..all because he never took a knife out of his backback and someone reported it...hmm, doesn't sound like its worth it to me.

                              • Your nephew was careless enough to either tell someone about the kniofe or let them see it. If you have a gun in a nylon rectangular carry pouch in the bottom of your backpack, who can say what that is unless you tell them?

Sounds like your nephew is a bright kid but he made the mistake of letting someone know what was in there.

And Danastas, unless colleges install metal detectors and/or random searches, your chances of being caught would be low unless you opened your mouth - or if you had to use it to save lives. Frankly I'd take the expulsion and weapons charges with a smile knowing I saved lives.
