Trevor Linden is deserving of something, he's a great player. You need Pavel Bure back!!!

Lundqvist is leading in 5 goaltending categories since dec. 30th. I know, I know, the rangers suck, but watch Avery annoy the living hell out of the whole Sabre team. we've got the best pest and goalie right now, and never count out Brodeur, although I hate the Devils a whole lot.
I actually picked the Rangers to easily beat Atlanta, and there lies in the problem. Just because the Smurfs beat Atlanta all their fans think they'll win the cup, but they will be the Strangers once they hit Buffalo and see a real playoff team.............

I thought New Jersey played a pretty solid series against Tampa Bay, I do hate em, In the Tampa Bay series they just plain out played the Bolts, not alot of cheap shots or other BS, they will be tough, I do just hate that defensive style of play, but it does work. Brodeur could be the deciding factor if he keeps playing well
I say the boy ain't right!

I agree with your post. And as they say, "Offense wins the regular season but goaltending wins the Cup". Brodeur is a proven playoff performer and Lou will make sure that the Devils play a stifling defensive posture.

I never said we're going to win the cup, or even think it, I'm just starved for this , and fired up to finally see my team past round one. All I said was they might surprise you, I think they're playing the best hockey , and have been playing playoff games for the last 6 weeks for that matter. The 'smurfs" are at least still on the ice and not the golf course like the Canadiens, the Leafs, etc. I think the rangers match up better against Buffalo then ottawa any day. The sens kicked our ass, the sabres did not. Then there's the Canucks, who I would pay money to have them beat the Ducks. I hope they take them down so hard because all these Duck fans have all of a sudden popped up in my town, and when i ask them to name two of their 4 lines , they can't. It's sickening. They know Selanne, and "our goalie, you know that guy , it starts with a G"-lol The west I think is stronger than the east, but you can ride a hot goalie all the way to the cup, and I think the rangers are gonna surprise a few people here. It's not like they don't have any talent on the team. Shanny, Straka,Jagr,Nylander,Cullen (cup winner last year), Prucha, rookie defenseman who have stepped it up like Girardi, Mara (from Boston in a late trade)Malik, Roszsival has a shot from hell like Mara, Callahan, and don't mess with colton Orr, we have a few thugs just in case it gets heated. Atlanta was clearly bigger than the rangers ,but the rangers took their hits, (and misses, I was cracking up cuz the Atlanta crowd would roar and their player would catch all glass instead of a ranger ) held on to the puck and didn't fold. This is not usual Ranger hockey. Ranger hockey is usually a tough time , and not filled with much joy, but I honestly think they are playing the best hockey at the right time. It doesn't make them the best team, but I seriously like our chances against the Sabres who spent the whole offseason pissed off and it showed. They had a great season, but If the rangers can somehow come up with the right game plan and steal game one, hell, if i had a contract that said we could split down there instead of losing both, I'd say where do I sign. I pick -The Disney Ducks although i hate them, and Detroit, Ottawa if they get enough guys in front of Brodeur and screen the daylights out of him, that's the only way you score on him, if it's clear sight , he's gonna stop the puck, but Ottawa looked awesome in round 1. With a gun to my head, I say the Sabres, but the tingle in my heart says Henrik shocks the world. Avery was a big spark for this team, and getting 4 of our best players back didn't hurt either. At the very least, we have PLAYOFF HOCKEY to freak out on , and that does not suck in any way!!!!

When Richter stopped Bure's breakaway in '94, I had to be picked up off the ground and put on the couch with a heineken intraveinous hook up, that was huge. I gave the Canucks credit coming back after we were up 3-1. There was just no way messier was going to let them lose on game 7 night, the new jersey goal with 2 seconds left in game 7 the round before was enough torture.

Nah, they just need Bertuzzi to come back and wake Naslund's ass up.........
                  .......just a guess (my picks).......
                  Vancouver in 7
                  Detroit in 6
                  Buffalo in 6
                  New Jersey in 5
............the '94 finals was the best hockey I've ever watched, been a Vancouver fan ever since........
I'm not into hell.........I just dig the soundtrack.........

I lived in LA for pretty much of the 80s, went to Kings games all the time, After Gretzky got there I had to spend half the friggin game explaining the rules to all the new found Hockey fans, same thing for a lot of your southern teams, most of the fans like the action but really don't understand the game or its history

Hey at least people are watching with you guys. I live in a frat house with 40 guys and I am the only person who wants to watch the hockey playoffs. I have to try and fight off everyone else who want to watch basketball, baseball, 24, lost, grey's anatomy, and other garbage.

baseball is fine, but not during the hockey playoffs , especially if your team is in the mix. nothing compares to it.

Bure was awesome, for a while. Is he even in the league anymore?

And +1 about hockey playoffs. Football (NFL) is, and will always be, my favorite sport but I when I was watching the 3rd period of the Canucks/Stars game 7, I was reminded of how much I love playoff hockey. I was on the edge of my seat and as into it as watching any NFL game.

Hockey playoffs are one of the best things sport, Too bad my team (TB) is out, but theres still a few teams I like. I haven't seen too much of the western teams because of the late starts and having to get up early for work, but as fate would have it I have a few weeks off , so I'm watching em all

Wow, we imploded with 4 minutes left in the 2nd period and were down 3-0 going in to the 4th. The first period the rangers came out strong for the first 5 min., then by the halfway mark Buffalo started taking the momentum, but Henrik was outstanding in goal and the rangers killed off 7 straight power plays. They were too busy trying to stop a a hyper infused buffalo team on a power play for most of the first two periods. It was 3-1 and hoping for a miracle, but 5-2 was the out come, and they had an empty netter at the end of the game. All in all, I think the rangers hung pretty well with the Sabres, hopefully we stay out of the box for maybe just 5 minutes, and maybe we can get a groove going. lundqvist made some ridiculous saves , as did Miller who stood the test very well. They can skate better, but i still think we can hang with them, stealing game two i would possibly give away a finger for, so we can head back to the zoo and try to get a grip on this series. You can't slack for a moment against the Sabres, I mean "the real playoff team"-lol
I knew with 7 power plays killed off that the dam had to break sooner or sooner than than sooner, buffalo did what they were supposed to do, but the score wasn't indicative of the game in my opinion. A 4 minute implosion at the end of the 2nd period, and not capitalizing on a 5 on 3 power play and you don't deserve to win. Friday night game 2, we'll be ready. I have faith. The Ducks are up 3-1 after 1 at the Pond. ooooooh the Pond-lol, it's like a palace, not a hockey rink, you can actually hear the skates when your there. Gliding that is. Not stopping during play-lol It's too nce inside, it's Disney, C'mon canucks , take them out, I'm getting looped right now after that huge breakdown. Take those 4minutes out and it was a great game, both goalies played great.
                                Let's go Rangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
