San Jose's defense is a lot better than I thought. detroit got goose egged. at home no less.

That gives the Sharks home-ice advantage now. SJ led the NHL in away-team wins during the regular season... And the option to facing the Red Wings was to face Anaheim... lets hope Anaheim gets beat up really bad this round.

The officiating in game 1 kinda sucked. SJ got called on calls that Detroit didn't, and detroit shoulda been called for taking a dive, instead Thornton got called for the trip. Bogus.

But a game 1 win at Joe Louis, plus the shutout are pretty big for the series opener... Hopefully SJ will be able to play a disciplined, simple and defensive game tomorrow.

San Jose did a fine job of clogging up the neutral zone. Other that they were not as good defensively as they can be. The Wings had plenty of opportunities to score and thats all you want...opportunity. Outside of the first 10 minutes of the game and taking advantage of poor play on the PKU and the huge turnover by Schneider the Sharks looked out of sync and BOTH teams were fairly invisible...sort a feel out stage.

Both clubs will make adjustments and we'll see what happens tomorrow. Detroit can ill-afford to get off to a slow start like that (they've done that numerous times in the reg season) or they'll be on the golf course in no time. Also the Wings CANNOT make mistakes...they have a very small margin of error against San Jose, every mistake they make will end up in the back of their net.

if you ask me, the officiating has been sub-par, and Hockey is slowly turning into badminton. It's ridiculous at times.

New York balls taken down in four was all I heard. I think they've been under estimated from the get go. It's a tall order for the Rangers to win a game seven at Buffalo, so if they have any chance to win, they would have to win the swing game tomorrow night in Buffalo, but that's asking alot. The Rangers have out played them, and in 5-10 minutes it looks like Buffalo is on a 5-3 at full strength. proud of my Rangers motherfukkers!!!!!!!!!!!! Kick some ass up there in Buffalo tomorrow, and that's all I can possibly ask for.
Canucjks blew it, I was so pissed, my neighbors are like Go Ducks, they don't know anyone on the team, but they know the whole ranger lineup cause i'm screaming and throwing stuff during each game. It's been hairy. Part of that puck went over the line last night, but the whole puck I don't know, besides , they owed us a call. why do they have to call Toronto for a decision? what's the deal with that? I'm shocked they gave us that call, they hate us up there, i thought for sure they give the Rangers the shaft on that call.
