  • My Favorite Metal Guitarists

I grew up during the 80's and it was Iron Maiden that motivated me to pick up the guitar. However, I no longer feel influenced by Maiden (still love the music, but the guitar playing doesn't do anything for me anymore).
Now I would say that the Metal guitarists from the 80's that I admire the most would be:

    Wolf Hoffman (Accept)
    Matthias Jabs (Scorpions)
    Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot)

All three of these guitarists had the incredible ability to create such beautiful and melodic solos. The kind that you can hum along with and never forget. None of them were/are considered great guitarists much less guitar hereos, but for me their playing was just wonderful.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

I was the same way - Number of the Beast was my first Metal album, but I've never fell out of love for anything Maiden related. I still think their playing is awesome. Go listen to Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.
