No, estonians don't riot because of the removal of soviet statue wich presents the occupation of estonia and mass slaughter and deportation of its people

The folks in US are used to call it soccer because it has never been very popular there. The people who came to America centuries ago probably weren't the biggest fans of the game too.... and while they developed their own football there, they started to call it football because they didn't acknowledged european football, but the time they did they needed another name for it so there wouldn't be a confusion.

For us, here, a "Football" is a ball. For you guys, it's a way to play ball without using hands. Anyone have any ideas as to what we should rename our "Football" so it doesn't offend those guys with great legs?:ROTF: :ROTF:

I may live in a little trailer, but I have an international perspective. And the field is actually called a pitch. See.

It's what one does while doing the family barbie. I would rather channel hop than deal with them. I only watched enough of that match to see how fucked up that field is. Shocking. I tell you shocking.:ROTF:

It's goes way back. In the old days , as in "Little House on the Prarie" they had to use dead people's feet. They used heads for basketball.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: You don't even want to know what they used for golf balls back then.

ok let me bring it down slowly for you

A lot of people who lived in America didn't know that (European) football exists.
At some time they developed a sport game (American Football) but since they didn't knew that (European) football exists, they started calling their game Football, because of the starting kick I think
But later they found out that football allready exists but it's a totally different game than their own invention.
They needed a different name for one of those games.
Since (American) football was their own game and they were familiar with it and had called it Football for some time they wanted to call (European) football with a different name because they weren't very familiar with that game. They started using a word soccer wich Brits made after the word Association Football because there was a confiusion in Britain too. Football could mean a regular (European, soccer) football or rugby. They started using words Association Football for regular football and Rugby Football for rugby. Later they shortened the names. Association Football became Soccer. Americans took over that name. But since Brits started using only rugby for the game rugby, they didn't need to call the regular football an Association Football anymore. The just called it Football.

                                :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:
