  • Anyone actually make a living online?

I keep hearing about people who work from home, online, doing who knows what, anyone do this, know anyone doing this, or have any info on it? I think something like that would be the perfect kind of job during college...

I get it. You are going away to college.... it will be a fresh start..... no past... a mild mannered student from a small town by day.... the future is yours...... it is in your hands... actually, your avatar gives it away... introducing..... Mr. Burn Harder: Gay Webcam Model

The failure rate on those internet businesses is like 90% because a lot of people actually believe those infomercials and dont invest a lot of time into it. You get out what you put in, if you dont want to work much then dont expect much, and maybe thats ok for coolege

I plan on retiring by 55, so Im busting my ass and contributing the max that I can to my investments and retirement plans now. Once my wife finishes nursing school Im going back to school myself, maybe i'll be a mechanic. The IT corporate life aint the life for me, though I can't say im not successful, just not happy. But I digress, seriously, you want an easy job then bag groceries, those internet websites aren't for people looking to earn an easy buck.

I hear ya ... I would rather have a job I enjoy and make less than a job that I earn more but am not happy at.

Also looking out for the future. As a mechanic I'll be able to find work just about anywhere, unless we all suddenly stop driving. And as a nurse my wife will always be able to find work, unless everyone stops getting sick.

Being a mechanic sucks, particularly here in the salt and snow.... I almost wish I didn't know how to work on cars, it's often a very unpleasant experience. I don't have to lay hands on them much these days, but running a small transmission company, we're hit quickly as far as low spots in the economy. I'm looking for other work.

i'd rather make a lot more money at a job I can't stand, because i can't stand working in the first place.

Yeah IT sucks, was fun for a while, but now it just bores the pants off me. Unfortunately it pays well. I've just taken the step and become a contractor so hopefully frequent changes of contract will keep me interested otherwise I have no fucking clue what I want to do!

I work in a factory making a product I do not use

But it buys guitars. And movies. And video games. And a new car. And food. And clothes.

Be an Ebay Millionaire. Buy that book that tells you how to do it. I would, but you know me - I'd post it online and ruin it for everyone just 'cuz
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

My boss owns a strain of servers, he makes a good living by buying and selling webpages and forums, and pays me to do all the work. (Very shitty pay, but whatever. It's easy)

I suppose with my history I could do it. But, I'm too lazy to post a ton of auctions on ebay. If push came to shove, I could make enough to pay the bills.
I am a true ass set to this board.

I supplimented my income once with Ebay when I was laid off. If you were really industrious, I guess you could do that. I just needed to find a niche and a supply of something profitable to sell. It just got to be to much BS, so I leave Ebay to Fett... The Ebay Tycoon.

                              I like the server idea.
