$1300 or so (inc. tax) on a new USA Fusion, Swapped the pickups out within 24 hours... The wife at the time was looking at me like I was nuts. hehehe...

Unlikely I'll do that again really. I like my 200 dollar Charvel 475 MUCH better than the fusion anymore.

No, you are not. I'm just wondering if the difference is worth the cost.

Heh heh I have 3 guitars that cost a total of.... $250! $150 for my Model 4, $50 for an epiphone slasher and another $50 for a squier strat. I'm only 17 and shaping up to be a good future Fett.

Well they sure play nice, but probably not worth the price of admission...I have 3 mid 80's Hamer SS1's that play just as nice, (but don't sound quite as good) for $1200/piece. Since i'm no recording artist... I guess I bought them for the collectable factor mostly...I love them all

1095 for my explorer, 515 for a DK2M, 629 for the EC-2005, 800 for B-405. that about sums it up.'

Right around $2K a couple of times. To try to answer Fett about whether the difference is worth it, that's a really tough question. Are they 5 times as good as my Model 6 or 4 times as good as my 750XL in terms of playability, tone, etc? Nope, but that's not how it works. It would be hard to convince a true bang-for-the-buck fan that expensive guitars are worth it, and I totally understand that.

I'd probably spend quite a bit more for the right guitars, but they'd have to be something that holds value or has a shot at appreciating. It'll be a while, though. Baby on the way, plus a new & scary mortgage payment that I've got to get used to.
