That steal call changed the whole game, and call it whining, or whatever, but the officiating sucks, and when it changes the game that's when I start whining big time. My grandmother who could see back in the days of abe lincoln could of made that call from the bathroom. Fusion, that's cool you're a Dodger fan, you're supposed to hate the Yanks. Did you get interested in them from their Brooklyn days, or since they've been here? I know you're not 60 years old, I was just curious because my Dad was a huge New York Giants fan, and when they and the Dodgers moved it ripped their hearts out, I thought maybe something similar happened to your pop, or uncle, etc. Now there's a great reason to hate them, I back you a thousand percent!!!Not helping the situation since 1965!

lol, he is a throat ripping motherfukker ain't he-lol He shells everyone. kinda like howard Stern, but what everybody keeps forgetting is it's freakin' the beginning of may, i'll bet anyone on this board the Yankees are tied for first or ahead of the sox by the end of july. It can't be too much money, unless i get the deal I already got the other day, i'm supposed to go pickup the parts and ship them out today and tomorrow. Then I can back my words a little heavier, so I'll keep you posted. First thing though is Elvis comes home, then it's sky's the limit. I wouldn't say Jery Remy kisses the yankees ass, he just respects them.here, look at it this way, here are the fans who are truly allowed to hate the Yankees-
1-Dodgers-ran out of town
2-Giants-ran out of town
3-Red sox-mother nature
4-Seattle,Oakland,Texas, and Minn.- always lost to us in the playoffs in the 1st round of the playoffs during the good days of 96 through 2001.
5-Braves- no need for explanation
6-Mets- mother Nature
7-The Rest of MLB- mother nature
I'd say that just about nails it to a tee.Not helping the situation since 1965!

YES just needs to get rid of Kay. Leiter and the other dude. Flaherety? The one Wake scared into retirement? are decent. Kay sucks and always has. Kind of like McCarver. Eck is great. He gives props where props are due. But if you fuck up he will definitely let you know it. lol You know my superstitions betting baseball bro. And I'm not drawing any conclusion till a playoff spot is clinched. Sox looked great till mid July last year then absolutely tanked it. Anything can happen. We must!

I had season tix for fouteen years, I ws lucky enough to go to every playoff and world series game from '76 through '78. It was a good ride for me. in'81 I was away at school when you got your revenge!!! My dad was born in 1913 and he taught me everything he possibly could about the game, he saw everybody for the most part. My family was shocked when he got season tix for the yankees as he was a huge n.Y. Giant fan, but being the youngest of 8 kids, and the favorite definitely gave me some pull when it came to dear old Dad. He died at 86 in 2000, and we have not won the series since. Makes you think. I did drop to my knees before the bottom of the 8th started in 2003 down 5-2 to Boston and prayed to him for help, I only do that in the most dire of emergencies. In '04 i was so in shock I didn't want to waste a prayer as they let that one go in a bad way. If Tony Clarke's ground rule double didn't bounce over a regular sized fence, combined with the red Sox wanting it more than the yankees did, who knows, we have a 2 run lead in game 4 instead of 1. All kinds of what if's in this sport. Yankes are starting to look pretty decent again, we didn't have a 19 year old on the mound last night, but we have a 70 year old in Moose tonite-lol I love Moose, he deserves a ring. Not helping the situation since 1965!

Near end of career Clemens to the Yankees? Not enough. They need more than that. Way more. The wild card won't come cheap this year, either. Not with the Detroit/ Cleveland race. Take a lot of wins to get some of that action.
Ive been following the Yanks for years. The last 4-5 years their pitching has slowly been getting too old and falling apart. They are turning into the Rangers: big bats, 3 run HR's all day long and nothing to show for it.
Boston has managed their roster way better the last few years, have kept themselves sharp, gotten stronger, made the right moves. New York has missed the boat. This Clemens signing smells pretty desperate.

Do you guys actually watch a whole BB game? Live is great. TV leaves a lot. I'm not sure whether I admire your loyalty to the game or wonder if you guys are nuts. I'm just curious what does it for you?I am a true ass set to this board.

It's got more strategy to it than football, and that game takes some serious strategy. It's a great game, it's nail biting at times, but it's got to be something you dig, like everything else, you either dig it or you don't. Yes I'm nuts, that's a given.
Mark,
I've been following the Yankees for a lot more than 4-5 years, Pettitte has pitched well all year, Moose was great tonite, Wang had a perfecto going until 1 out in the 8th the other night, if Clemens can pitch well, and Philip huges comes back by the beginning of June, I think the yankees have a great pitching staff, and i stand by my bet. Any takers?
Fett,
wjhat does it do for me? It brings me jubilation, anger, dissapointment, massive happiness, all kinds of emotions, kinda like music.
Sox win big, Yankees win comfortably. We're back to 500, hopefully we don't look back. the wild card very well is going to be a tough cookie to grab, but i know for a fact the pinstripes will be there in the end, maybe sooner. Not helping the situation since 1965!

Tommy, I know all about the "Game" and it was cool years and years ago. Here's what ended it for me, a pitcher stopped throwing 9 innings. Now it's 5; 2; 1/2; 1/3 or worse. So you have a bunch of guys with bats that spend 99% of their time either sitting or standing around. And they have to spend 9 innings doing that. Last time I checked, the pitcher is the man. This, I can only pitch 5 solid innings and then I have to have middle reliever, and so on and so on, just ruined the game for me.I am a true ass set to this board.

As for the Yanks missing the boat. ???????????????? Kind of sounds like the NY/Boston press. A couple of bad games at the beginning of the year, injuries and all the sudden, Torre's gonna get fired, the Yanks are done. They're not what they used to be. I say, the AL East pennant remains in their possession and has for 11 years, and until someone, be it Boston, Blue Jays or any other team takes it away, then they can still fly that flag at Yankee stadium, and that includes for the remainder of this year.
We're in May
Mark (grabbing your shoulders and shaking you).... get a hold of yourself, you're a Yankee fan and we need as many as we can get here on this board filled with them.........uh........Boston dudes......Last edited by donf; 05-10-2007, 07:40 AM.Occupation: Department Director for the Department of Redundancy Department

holy shit we have 3 pitchers . I mean 3 real pitchers. Back to 500 since we were 8-6 after sweeping the mighty Cleveland Indians who are no joke. Their one concern is pitching, travis Hafner, Grady sizemore, and the rest can all hit. Sox are 6 ahead at this fine morning's start. Time to start widdling slowly if we can. Don't want to more than 4 or 5 back at all star break. I guess nobody took my action. Are they scared of the yankees or do they know I'm broke-lolNot helping the situation since 1965!
