Bittersweet day in IT

I was notified that 10 employees here in the office are being let go at the end of the month and that I need to watch their activities on the network closely, they have been told they are going and if they do anything bad it will result in them losing their severance package.

I then had my annual performance review and was given a raise.

What a day!

Congrats on the raise Jack, and don't feel bad about being the watchdog. I can understand the ones who are going may be upset, but if they actually try to harm the company on their way out, well they'll deserve to lose their severance packages.

Don't let anyone skate, man. Someone may be watching YOU watching them. You don't need to join the layoffs because you feel sorry for someone.

I'm surprised that they haven't had their accounts locked and have been escorted off the premises if they are being let go at the end of the month.
