  • How to wear a necktie

I know that 99.9% of you guys don't.:ROTF: But, this just frosts my balls. A necktie should go only as far to touch or half cover a belt buckle. These rubes that have the tie land inches lower than that are just as worse as some dork that has the tie 4 inches above the buckle. I'm an old school dresser. And so are the dudes that will hire you.

I used to have to wear a tie all the time, so I learned the ways. Yeah it is important to get that tie all the way down there. I used to wear a teal tie with a jazzy vibe to it. My boss hated it.

I was watching NASCAR and all those ties looked like they were covering their balls. It's all an issue of balance.

Actually, Fett, this is a huge problem for me in Japan. Ties are cut to length for Japanese males. Many are able to get a good, chunky full Windsor and have lots of length to spare.

To get me the proper length, I have a tiny half Windsor and about and 1 1/2" on the tail end. Custom lenth ties nay be ordered for about $70. In a country where men wear cheap, 'utility business grade' (ad speak, not me) , suits and in an attempt to look cool and shell out $170 for a guady designer tie flashing the house TM, I can see the price referencing point, but I won't buy into it.

How much are ties back home these days, 3 for a dollar at the thrift store? Retro is always hip.

But, you live in SD. Just remember to not wear a striped tie with a floral print shirt. A solid skyblue tie would look just stunning.

I think there's some truth here, if you make a great appearance - your chances of getting hired would be much better..
