Ahhh.. You'll be fine without it.

You'll get more poon thrown at you than ever..

then you could have a different color goatee every week..blonde, brunette, red, bald...even nappy if you wish..

Hey, let's not jinx this moment..let's cross all the right bridges first..Let's stay positive tho!!!

Yeah, for that money and job security, I'll forego the goatee for it I guess...

Thanks for all the kind wishes guys, I do appreciate it. It's been less than great here moneywise lately and this would be a very good thing for me.

I'm certainly still a ways off and lotsa stuff could happen to mess it up. But it seems I'm in a good place rank wise. We'll see where it gets me Could be cool.

Congrats John! I'm sure Cleveland will be lucky to get the kind of officer you'll make. Plus you can take Bill on ridealongs and let HIM beat the perps! It's win/win!

                    As I'm watching COPs...LOL!

I've been working in Cleveland since August..it has it's good parts and bad. I work in Westlake which is nice. And I've had to visit the Cleveland Clinic in the "fun" parts of town. I guess it depends on where you get located.

For jobs, healthcare seems pretty good. The Cleveland Clinic is a fricken Taj Mahal, they must rake in the bucks (Oh yea, the bill for my parathyriod surgery was $35K - just to cut some small lump out of my neck).

                    P.S. too bad you aren't near Cinci - I need a new 904 for my '70 Challenger.

Yeah, I'm thinking if I were to get on the force, I'd probably be out between downtown and the Cleveland Clinic (very rough), or in my own neighborhood, (pretty darn rough).... Tons of fun either way ya go I'm sure...

Healthcare is one of the few good jobs out this way... Lotsa employment there if youre skilled in that.

We'll have to hook up one of these days, I'm near Edgewater Park and the GF lives in Fairview. I'm out by Westlake a lot.

We do build a mean 904... hehe...

Sounds good. Unfortunately I was in a major car accident in Lodi on 3/27, in Akron General until 5/2 and just learning how to walk again. It'll be a few months before I make it back up to Westlake. I'm fortunate that my boss (who I worked with in Cinci for 5 years before us working in Cleveland) is sympythetic and lets me work from home until I recover. One of the few benefit / curses of the IT field. I can work from home, but as a lot of my friends found out, companies can outsource to India. That's one of the reasons for working in Cleveland - gotta go where the work is.

Man, so sorry to hear of the accident, that's seriously terrible.

Some serious damage done to you, but I guess at least you are still here to learn to walk again. I'm sure you're sick of hearing that. But, it's still definitely better than the alternative.

Well, maybe someday if you get back up this way... Hope you are able to get back on track as good as can be expected. Major good thoughts and positive energy out to you bro.

I have applied at Hyland Software out in Westlake several times for CSR and support rep. No go... Pretty sad I'm not suitable for that in their opinion even tho I'm pretty software and PC intuitive and somewhat savvy in that area.

Well, hope thing look up fast for you!

Thanks. Yea, I got pretty lucky I didn't bite the big one. With me in a Saturn into a Dodge full-size pickup head on full speed, I really got lucky and count my blessings. But I'm recovering quickly and should be back up and running in no time. Kind of a bad thing because working from home instead of Cleveland is pretty sweet.
