In case anyone has missed this, USPS has introduced new rates and services as of yesterday. And not for the better!
I'm in Canada, and it will be very expensive, if not impossible to ship a guitar here from the U.S.
For the Priority air parcel service, the maximum length is now 42", and combined length and girth is a max of 79". This will rule out most every guitar case out there.
The Global Express option is available, and the max length is 46" with the
girth at 108", but the cost is very high at around $120 for a 22lb package. This is more than triple what the air parcel post cost was only last week.
Getting a Rhoads shipped from the U.S. via USPS is now impossible, as the cases on those are bigger than their allowable limit. Good thing I got mine when I did!
From what I've heard, U.S. customers will be impacted as well, so to be on the safe side, check on www.usps.com
