Yes I did and it fucking feels great.

The construction business has been kind to me for the last ten years and my investments have performed very well.
I've had it with the getting early routine, meetings, stupid clients, etc.

So Monday morning I am turning in my four week notice. I am 39 years old and feel life is more than a 40 hour slave deal.

I have a group of contractors and clients that will feed me some work to keep "in touch", but a month from now there will be a lot of guitar playing and net surfing!!!!

Welcome to the club. I live in MD too. New house construction mostly sucks.

BTW...I'm an electrician by trade. No, I don't do residential work anymore.
