It's not a fucking trailer. It's a not-so-mobilehome. If I had to move it, it would close to 10 grand. This is the only sane way I can look at this. This thing cost $21,000. I have been here close to 3 years. If I amortize it out, it's like $600 a month+475 lot rent. The longer I can stay the better. My alternative was a 2 bedroom apt. That would have been around $750+/mon. The bottom line is that I paying about $350/mon more to live like a king. I'll just have to find more goodies to sell on ebay.

Mine isn't mobil anymore either...Two add ons...Housing took a big jump...My humble trailer is worth about $200,000...I own the land though. Still, I get razzed by my friends big time and my girls hate it! They alway bug me to move...I like not having a huge mortgage payment. I tell them it is a life lesson in humility! hehe

John, sorry to hear it. We've had a lot of copper and such thefts out here - apparently some of the street lights in my area have some metal or thing they can resell. The crazy bastards climb up 20 feet in the air to 'harvest' the lampposts!
What amazes me is how hard they sometimes work to get the stuff - cutting pipe, lugging it around, etc... would they need to steal if the fuckers spent as much time/effort actually WORKING at a real job?

nice progressive hood John, jeez I'd move out of that place as fast as possible...
funny... the place I live... in captiol city center... my area was ghetto-like 10 years ago... bums, gangs, small time crooks everywhere, biggest maffia leaders had their meetings here, it was a real fucking shithole... but now the real estate prices are HUGE here, it's wealthy, everything is around here... strong infrastructure... tons of new buildings. This fucking apartment where I'm writing this post right now costs more than some house in suburbs.. years ago it wasn't worth shit."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

so, you can set a trap for a rat that will kill it, but ya can't do the same for a burgler, hmm, well, I guess premeditated murder is a bit more harsh than plain ole theft.
You see that WW2 vet get his car jacked in the 'hood? 91 years old and the 22 year old punk that got caught beat this old guy mercilessly. Just kept smashing his face. It was horrible to watch, and those people standing/driving nearby not doing a damn thing! Thankfully the guy was ok, but the punk gets caught and pleads not guilty! I'm surprised he didn't kill em!
Ya know, if thats the kind of ruthless mindset I have to deal with, I'm gonna have me a decent self defense plan in place to make them think twice about coming through the door.
Premeditated murder, I hope they eventually saw it as a method of self defense.
BTW, many trailer parks will not take outdated mobile homes. Once (or if) the property underneath gets sold, good luck trying to find a place that you can move a older trailer into/onto unless its your own property. Anything over 10 years dated is likely to find itself in a tough place. There's alot of trailers here that are for sale that have been on the block for quite some time. There's one that is like 7000.00, not to bad of shape, they can't move it fast enough. It'll likely sit for sale for months. Most mobile home owners will take a big hit on the investment. Depreciation is like thousands per year. Beats paying big $$ rent overall tho.Last edited by charvelguy; 05-21-2007, 05:43 AM.

Yeah, it's been quiet there at night. Sure thought they'd come back tho for a few things they left... Still waiting.
Maybe they're waiting for me to replace the copper haha...
Still waiting for Cleveland Police SIU to get here to take prints! I've been in the till since Saturday night. Sigh...
But, I have lots to do while waiting. Putting in plastic pipe everywhere I can...
