Singing while playing

I used to be incapable of playing and singing at the same time, but over the years I started doing a little bit and now I have no problem doing both at the same time. Except for one thing. I was recording "one by one" by the foo fighters and complelely flipped out trying to do the intro. Yep, the duh duh duh bit. I just could not do it. And that was just playing! I eventually figured I was singing it in my head at the same time, rendering me a drooling idiot. 20 years of playing, back to square one.

Had a similar experience watching Paul Gilbert sing the "Oi" intro to AC/DC's TNT while playing at a clinic once. I just don't understand how it's possible!!

I think the tougest part is keeping your timing, alot of us who don't sing too well try to play too much of the melody, try just hitting the chord and carry more of the song with your voice
