Now, I know why I'm not a sauced guy. I bought this stuff called Quark. It's some cheese stuff. It's like a yogurt. Who cares? It sells for $2.99 and I got mine for 10 cents. So, I decided to make stroganoff. I did a pint of Quark and 1/2cup of whole milk. It took more than an hour and a half to cook the shit down. Chopped up leftover roast cooked in the juice, onion, bell pepper and noodles. Yum. But making the sauce was a royal pain in the ass. I'm sure glad I like to cook.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

Easy way to make Stroganoff, or at least something I call Stroganoff:
Slice up your meat, some onions, garlic, and mushrooms. Saute them all (use butter or oil in the pan, or even nothing in a non-stick, your choice) together until the meat is just a little less done than you want it to end up. Add some white wine or sherry & stir to get all the good bits & juices mixing. Add a few tablespoons of condensed Cream of Mushroom soup & mix it in. Add sour cream, as much or as little as you want. I usually add a ton of fresh ground pepper. Keep it simmering & adjust the thickness by adding a little water, milk, or more wine. Serve over egg noodles. I've never had any complaints.
