Ernie Ball 9-42's on most guitars...

Ernie Ball 11-58's for the downtuned stuff...
    I'm angry because you're stupid

in standard tuning 9-42 (56) on my 7. - DR high Beams (Love em)
      E flat tuning I like 10's
I've never tuned down any lower so I can't say.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Carvin strings (GHS Boomers) 10-46 on 25.5" scale...

Charvel Star - tuned to E
Fender Double Fat Strat - Eb, sometimes Drop Db
        Kramer Explorer - Eb

        Les Paul 24.75" - E, or Drop D
        Jackson Mark Morton 24.75" - E, Drop D

        Jackson Dinky HX 25.5" - D, Drop C, Ernie Ball Power Slinky 11-48 or DR Hi-Beams 11-50

Carvin SC90 25" scale, Eb or Drop Db, Power Slinky 11-48.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

9s on E tuned 25.5"s, 10s on 24.75" E tuned, every time I drop a 1/2 step I go up a string gauge, so guitars that are Eb are 10s. Anything else to me feels way too light.

              Chris..how awesome for posting this..

what gauge did you put on that 7 string?

              I use Slinky 10s on all the others...well, they don't break..and I'm nuts sometimes.

I still love it, and still trying to play it!!!

                          Uh, let's see...

                          .010 - .046 in E standard on Dean Vendetta 3.0
.0105 - .048 in Eb standard on Jackson Stars Rhoads, KVX10
.011 - .052 in Eb standard on Archtop Pro (24.75" scale) and in D standard on JS30WR Warrior, as well as in E standard on acoustic (25.5" scale)
                          .013 - .056 in B standard on DKMGT, COW DK6

So I kinda try to go for the same tension in all tunings, except for acoustic.

10-46s on every guitar tuned to D standard or Eb and sometimes Drop C but 46s are not really suitable for Drop C

D'Addario 9-42s on all my electrics. Gonna pick one for Eb soon. Should I go up to 10s for it? Will the 9s be too sloppy?
