Being as old as I am, we grew up not liking the French. It's a DeGaulle thing.

Judging people by the actions of their government may not be the best way to go, but alot of people do go that way. Both in the US and abroad. Why do you think alot of Americans traveling abroad lie to people and say they are Canadian? I saw it myself while on my 5 week tour of Europe. Know how many times I was called a "stupid american"? More than once. None of them in France though. So I think both sides are guilty of that...
The French interested me though. I did find some snobby French. Mostly in the Service Industry. But I think more of that stems from their bloated sense of self. Not because I'm american or whatnot. I do think some French think they are better than they really are. But that goes for all nationalities, doesn't it?I'm angry because you're stupid

Two things about my time in France that I found interesting...
I have never had a watress at a restaurant tell me after I order, "That's not what you want. I'll order for you." That happened in Leon. So she ordered for me and it was some beef thing (or was it horse?) that was awesome. So she knew what she was talking about. But I guess she had my best interest at heart...
Second was I noticed some don't like giving change when you buy something. I had 1 guy motion for me to take all the coins out of my pocket. He proceeds to count them, quicker than I could mind you, and take what he needed so he didn't have to give me change. But in the time it took to relay the message that I was to empty my pockets and the time it took him to count the coins, he could have made change 3 times over. That one was a head scratcher...I'm angry because you're stupid

You´re disciminating against people and cultures you don´t even know.
Wanna talk about France or the French, do like I did and go live there for almost three years. Maybe then you have an opinion not just prejudice.

Erm, not that I was going to make any wise-cracks about Germans marching into France and staying for 3 years, noooooo, perish the thought!!
Oh, another reason to dislike the Frogs : the way their fearless secret service attacked and sank the highly dangerous unarmed protest ship Rainbow Warrior for the heinous crime of drawing attention to their nuclear tests. Bastards!
Agreed though that you shouldn't dislike a whole nation because of what their leaders do.
Reason to like the Frogs : French pornography. Pure filth (though leagues behind the Krauts.)

An officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve was attending a conference that included admirals from both the U.S. Navy and the French Navy. At a cocktail reception, he found himself in a small group that included personnel from both navies.
The French Admiral started complaining that whereas Europeans learned many languages, Americans learned only English. He then asked, "Why is it that we have to speak English in these conferences rather than you speak French?"
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: "Maybe it is because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies, and Americans arranged it so you would not have to speak German." The group became silent.
I don't give a shit if it was 60 years ago or not,the fact is that Us,the Brits,Aussies and yes, even the Canadians saved their very *existence* and gave them their country back,to do what? To shit on us? We did the right thing, and we get how many thousands of our own men killed? Families destroyed,so they can put us down? Hell no,they should be kissing the fucking ground our grandfathers walked and bled upon to save their sorry asses from total annihilation and thank god the ovens didn't make it that far by the time we got there to save them.
But no they don't,so when the muslims take them over, and they most certainly will, the laugh will be on them as their freedoms are taken away by force yet again, only slower due to it being more of a cultural shift than a military style invasion. Bye bye freedom of religion, bye bye freedom of speech, bye bye freedom of letting your whorish women dangle their fun parts out of their clothes. Bye bye to your culture, literature, history and music...(what do they listen to over there, like Winger or something? :ROTF...everything they so snobbishly hold dear will no longer be,then what will they have?

I for one bought into the whole "freedome fries" propoganda at the beginning of this war... Sadly I was mistaken, and now that I see whats really going on, I dont blame the French one bit for their not wanting to get involved with this war.
I went to highschool with a kid from France... was a really cool kid, one of the nicest people youd ever meet. He moved back to France last I heard, havent been in contact with him since, whish I had a way to get ahold of him.Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...
