French waiting staff! Otherwise it's a nice place, well what I've seen of it was.
I rest my case.
I found that if you attempt to speak the lingo, even French waiters can be okay. We were at a diner near Paris which was full of a typical British coach party (Fat, ugly, pink retards in football jerseys - no wonder they hate us so much...) As can be expected, they were loudly complaining about the menu being in French, that they couldn't get chips or reconstituted turkey products, and the waiting staff weren't being any help. The very pissed-off looking waiter came over to take our order, and we tried our best CSE-grade French on him. It was like magic, we got great service, and great food, before anyone else did!
Je vais un cretin mais, I am liked by many and i love them right back.
I took french for years, not that I remember any of it after all of the goings on in my life, but I do like the food, that's top notch after Italian that's made correctly. Of course preceded by a huge monster 3.5 inch ribeye very rare, and a tall freezing beer of heineken.
Fucking hell, I didn't realise anything came out of Belgium apart from chocolate and sprouts (tastes like shit served together though). Oh, and the German Army, obviously!
Famous Belgians? Erm, Hercule Poirot....and.........erm........Leon Degrelle. That's about it for me, I'm afraid.
GodofRhythm, you have a serious chance here to be THE most famous Belgian in the world!!!
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!
This is the worst thread within a year here ... at least.
I'm the only person on this board that knows the real reason and that's because I am 56. The bottom line is the French copped an attitude after WWII that we, in the US, didn't like. An they didn't like us for that. It's that simple.
