Sorry to hear about all this, and I know how heavily it can weigh upon your mind. Like all things, it will pass, and life will become more "normal" again. Thoughts and prayers are with you though. Good luck.

Best wishes with this I think it will work out fine. My friend had this when he was 28. He changed his diet cutting down on the red meat, added doses of fiber twice a day and started Mt bike riding. He has not had any sypmtoms since and he is now 37.

I naturally worry about things a lot and I worry about her more than I should for some reason. Maybe it is because she is my wife and well... she is kind of a ditz lol.
The upside to this is I found out my wife is pretty good at Guitar Hero and she gets very loopy on pain killers. Its funny to watch some of the stuff she does/says.
Any thoughts or prayers would be great. I am very happy tomorrow is friday...
I'm glad it sounds like it'll go through the clear.
Careful though as the ditziness may be contagious.
My g/f has been wanting me to get on the 'Schultz's colon cleanse kit' program for couple months now. She and others swear by this plan ...his downfall was when he claimed it would cure cancer and terminal illness, which is why his clinic was shut down. Even though it may have been truth in event, you still can't claim that you have a 'cure' for cancer, especially through natural means, at least, thats how the Gov't feels about it.
It tends to remind me a great deal of the 'colon blow' skit done on Sat Night live and in a the movie Van Wilder but I take the whole colon related thing seriously on the whole.
They say you should also do a 20-30 minute brisk walk per day.
All the best to you.Last edited by charvelguy; 06-01-2007, 10:06 AM.

Sorry to hear that Thor. I suffer from diverticulosis as well. That's what it's called when the pockets are there but not inflamed. Diverticulitis is when the pockets get infected or inflamed. Bad times, I know, but I was diagnosed at 30 and am 49 now, still no colostomy bags.
If she does the right things she will probably stave off the symptoms and complications for life. It will mean a healthier lifestyle for you too if you follow her lead. This condition is pretty common in the US die to our diet of processed foods and our sedentary lifestyles. But it is manageable.Ron is the MAN!!!!

You guys are in my prayers. Tough love baby, make sure she follows those doctor orders. (or at least 99%) I hope everything works out for her. I just got home from the hospital yesterday. I had a bag installed. I think if there is any way to avoid getting a bag listen to your doctor. I had no choice. The liquid diet they put me on was not so bad. I thought it was going to just broth and things like that but there are lots of good things to eat still. I would take some time to look into it so you can keep things interesting when it comes time to eat. I am now on solid foods but wearing the bag. As unappealing as wiping the butt is, it is still better than cleaning a bag. The surgery is really major as well.
Good luck, I don't know if I can help at all but feel feel free to PM me if I can.

I'm very sorry Thor..
I had to take almost a year off from work to care for my son while my wife dwindled down to 68 lbs in the hospital..we almost lost her..it was so bad her doctors were crying.
She's doing pretty good now..that was 10 years ago.
I know what your going thru..I hate even talking about it.
Things will be better..
Take care,
