oh yeah, there are a lot of foods "hecho en China"
More scary is the foods that sub-components are made overseas.

We're already here...taking over your ivy-league and engineering schools...and restaurants
Seriously though...outside of mainland china, especially in Hong Kong, people are very careful about buying China made health/food products cause the QC and origin of raw materials is questionable at best.

we all need to write our congressmen to lobby for a law that requires the clear disclosure of chinese sourced ingredients in our food/drug products. makes sense, right? but of course it won't go anywhere because the multinationals that want to continue to buy cheap ingredients from china will pay off (oops, make a campaign contribution) the same congressmen.

Originally posted by dg View PostRight on, George. I blame the Chinese, sure, but the assholes over here bringing in the cheapest shit they can get their hands on are even worse. They prove time & again that they can't be trusted to police themselves, so Federal oversight is the only answer. Looks like there's no stopping the crappy-ass WalMart clothes and electronics with shitty solder joints, but we have to draw the fucking line at anything that is going to be ingested. Bad enough that pets were lost the last time. People are next.
