That's a great completely unrelated topic you bring up there. People can make their own informed (or uninformed, if they choose to remain ignorant) decisions about whether to eat excessive amounts of fatty, salty fast food. At least the fatty, hormone-infused meat gets spot-checked by the USDA, and the government actually has stepped in to try to get trans-fats out of the fried food. This is basically anti-freeze in toothpaste, coming right on the heels of poisoned wheat gluten in pet food.
Sorry if I came across as anti-import. Should've left out the solder-joint comment, I guess. I'm not against quality imports (especially when it comes to food, beer, etc), but I still think any import that can end up being ingested should have to pass whatever tests are required of a comparable domestic product, even if it's just a crappy knockoff to be sold at the dollar store.
