The Democrats will always live under the impression that slavery ended just last week, and that the people directly involved in it are still alive and the slave owners (all Whites) should be punished by having their wealth taken away and given to the victims (all Blacks below a certain income level). They also believe that Blacks do not have the same educational and employment opportunities as Whites, so they have to create special programs to give them a leg up, rather than having to work to achieve anything. They spend their entire careers convincing Blacks that they are being held down by Whitey.

Of course, it's easy enough to find Blacks that are well aware that everyone involved in slavery on both sides is long dead, everyone has identical and equal rights and opportunities, and no one has to work twice as hard as anyone else to get what they want, they just have to work for it like everybody else.

By the same token, it's easy enough to find people of all colors who feel the Guvmint owes them a free ride, and they line up like the lazy morons they are for that Democrat-inspired Check.
